When billionaire Jake Simons rescues a kitten the week before Christmas, the orange tabby leads Jake to the greatest gift of the season - Veterinarian Marley West.
The last thing Marley needs is a client meddling in her personal business, but Old Man Winter, Mother Nature, and Jake's pregnant mares have other plans for her holiday. When she gets snowed in with Jake during the worst blizzard in racehorse country, sparks fly.
But will Jake be strong enough to let go of his ghosts from Christmas Past? Will Marmalade find his forever home? And, in this friends-to-lovers story, will Marley learn to trust that Jake just might be her very own Christmas miracle?

her Knight in Shining Cowboy boots 5 MARMALADE STARS Oh, Holy Night, this is incredible. Now Marley might have been referring to Jake's hot chocolate when she said it, but it ABSO-KITTEN-LUTELY fits this story PURRFECTLY!! This is such an adorable, sweet, romantic, magical Christmas story!! Paula wasn't horsing around with this one! It tugs every single heart string I have, even a few I forgot about! But isn't that the beauty & magic of both Christmas and sweet, well-written romance stories? And even though I'm not a cat person, Marmalade is way too cute & precious to ignore! Paws down he is one FURRY special ball of Cupid fluff! And that's no LION! The way he roars into Jake's life, Marmalade definitely lends a helping paw to bring Jake & Marley together, then with the timing of the storm, the mares about to foal .. It’s like… it’s a Christmas miracle. ;-) Having read and LOVED Paula's fantasy series Kingdom of Chalvaren I was eager to read this one too, even if it isn't my preferred genre. OH, HOLY NIGHT I am purring with delight while tears run down my face BECLAWS of the romance, the sweetness of the story and... "It was pure magic – magic she wanted to get lost in." And lost I did!! Paula's FURNOMENAL talent had me purring, giggling, oooooing, awwwing, holding my breath, panting, gasping, crying and - believe it or not - even more! Her genuine & exceptional gift for creating such breathtaking, magical, heartwarming & PAULATACULAR stories that I love, Love, LOVE & want to read time & again while waiting for more, is indeed just that - a gift! The magic of Christmas purrs loudly and oh so very PAWFECTLY throughout this FURRY sweet & heartwarming story! Exactly what you need to put a smile on your face, love in your heart, and sparks to get & keep the home fires burning!! *wags eyebrows*
Marmalade’s First Christmas is a quick smooth read. The writing is excellent and the story is so cute. The characters are well developed and I instantly loved them; well, most of them. I was offered this book in exchange for an honest review. I usually don’t read romances; but I loved Paula Millhouse’s previous Kingdom of Chalvaren Romances, so I knew I would like the writing. As I read this book, I imagined it as one of those holiday movies we usually see on Lifetime; but I think it would work on the Animal Planet too. At a little less than 200 pages, Marmalade’s First Christmas is perfect for a day at the beach or just a relaxing evening. I loved the book and give it 5 Boundless Stars. I recommend this to anyone who likes to read. Also, the recipes at the end are an extra perk....Beth
A Hallmark-type Christmas story. I really enjoyed this book. The story was sweet and kept the pages turning. Marley is the town vet and has some secrets. She is a likable character and you want to rally behind her. Jake is a super sweet millionaire who will sweep you off your feet. Marmalade is a cute little kitten that is looking for a home. It has horses too! OMG I really loved this story and don’t want to give anything away. Even though it’s a novella, it felt more like a novel and didn’t feel rushed. I loved the characters and felt like I was there. It reminded me of one of those movies on Hallmark channel. Such a great book to get you into the spirit of Christmas. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves romance and Christmas.
