Marriage by Mistake by Alyssa Kress

He woke up to discover two days of his life completely gone.
Workaholic Boston blueblood Dean has made it his life's goal to be the opposite of his irresponsible, womanizing father.
But Dean discovers that while in a hypnotic trance he'd acted exactly like his father, travelling to Las Vegas where he'd wooed and wed some sexy, airhead dancer.
Now, Kelly may be sexy, but she's no airhead. She knows the cold and puritanical man who claims to be her husband is not the man she'd married. But she suspects the warm and tender man she does love is buried somewhere deep inside. And she's determined to find him...

About the Author

Alyssa Kress completed her first novel at the age of six, an unlikely romance between a lion and the jackal who wants to steal his meal. Despite earning two degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and spending nearly a decade in the construction industry, she's yet to see her feet stay firmly on the ground. She now lives in Southern California, three miles from where she first committed pen to paper, together with her husband and two children.

600 pages to get to plot C. At times this book kept my interest, however, I frequently checked to see "how many pages left?". Repetitive use of expressions, a lot of teeth clenching going on, and character development was all over the place. I'm not too difficult to please in my books, but this one didn't do it for me. Sorry Ms. Kress.

I am only 1/3 of my through this book and I find myself skimming already. I will finish this book and give a complete review at that point but right now, not looking good. It is dragging and I am already annoyed by the hero, Dean, and the herione, Kelly.

The story is not bad. Great for a free book. I found the dialog a little annoying. In almost every instance when questions are asked the characters repeat the questin back as an answer. The writer should've been a little more creative than that. It gives no depth or insight to the characters making them appear to be stupid.

It wasn't one that you couldn't put down but it was good for a free book. It's not one you will call up the book club to discuss but it was something to read. It was over 500 pages which is really good.

This was a surprisingly good read. I was curious, and thought it would be cheesy, but it was really good. I would read more from this author.
