I'm writing this recommendation after searching for this book in order to pick up for friends that recently got engaged. My husband and I read it prior to getting married in January 2010 and have gone on to recommend it to no fewer than five other couples, all of whom have said it was great preparation. I imagine it's a worthwhile read even if you're already married, too. I would recommend this book to anyone who is considering marriage. It doesn't just tell you what skills, tactics, etc. to utilize, it gives great guidance on how to learn and apply those skills, which will prepare you for a lifetime of dealing with "in good and in bad, in sickness and health" and so on. What we learned in reading it and discussing it pre-marriage has really shaped our marriage to last.

This book was given to me by a friend of mine after i told her about a really horrible situation i was going through with my husband. It gives alot of enlightment to certain areas in a persons marriage, and offers ideas/advice on ways to help your marriage work. (even if you are on an extremely tight budget)!!!! I am truly happy this book was given to me. It has been a blessing.
