Overview

Rebecca Harwell was dazzled by Tucker Mallory, a gorgeous, self-assured lawyer who came to work for her father's firm. Their marriage was quick and their son, Sammy, arrived just as the marriage ended.

Now, six years later, Sammy's only birthday wish-to see his father-threatens Rebecca's hard-won tranquility with the kind of turmoil only Tucker can bring.

Tucker never expected to fall so hard for Rebecca, let alone marry and have a child. When the marriage went bad, he told himself Rebecca and their son would be better off without him.

Now Tucker realizes his terrible mistake. There's no way to make up for leaving his wife and son, but nothing will stop him from trying.

About the Author

Teresa Hill is a USA Today Bestselling Author whose books have been translated into eight different languages and sold in many more countries than she’s had the opportunity to visit. (So not fair.)

Growing up on a farm in Kentucky, she was a Daddy’s girl and a tomboy. She learned to drive on a tractor and loved to climb trees.

Her mother warned that one day – when she wanted to have pretty legs for boys -- she’d be sorry about all her scrapes and scars. But she has no regrets -- not even about the time she got a fishhook stuck in a very sensitive area or ended up seeing her own kneecap. (Not on an X-ray.)

Her husband found her while they were both working their way through college. (He was her boss.) She remembers thinking so clearly, “What are you doing here? You’re much too early. I have things to do.” But she couldn’t just tell him to go away and come back later, so she married him. He never tried to keep her from doing anything.

She wanted to live by the ocean, so after college, she sent resumes to a dozen coastal cities between Virginia Beach and New Orleans. It worked! She wrote her first novel on a little island off the South Carolina coast.

She and her husband now share their home – a brick ranch (for him) with a view of the mountains (for her) -- with a collie, a German shepherd and a 20-pound cat who informs her it’s time to stop working by plopping down on her keyboard. (He doesn’t care if her hands are still on it.)

She believes everything in life – the good or the very bad -- is better with someone you love, which is why she writes love stories.

I'm glad I got this book for free. The storyline wasn't bad - it just needed to be developed a bit more. The characters were okay but their motivations weren't very clear or consistent. I found both of the main characters a bit annoying as either seemed capable of expressing their emotions/thoughts clearly to the other. I was often guessing at their thoughts myself to understand them as characters. The author needs to work on keeping the details of the story the same throughout. I was taken out of the story several time as the author switched details about the reasons for the characters originally breaking up. Overall, not the worst story I've ever read but I will not be putting this author on my reading list.

I must say that the story was very disappointing. I didnt get th emotions i was expecting from the characters or the story in general. I found myself hurridly reading through the book just so i could be done with it. Im not saying that it was poorly written its just that...it seemed to drag on...the emotions were constantly replayed and i felt as though someone was telling me the story of these two charaters instead of showing me. Often i grew bored or irritated because of the lack of emotion. It was more like an ending of WOOHOO its a happy ending but sarcastically. This is the first story ive read by this author but i was hoping for more. I was hoping to feel that pain and anger and fear and hope that both characters were feeling that they wre living. I just didnt feel that though....and that lack of being able to touch me deeply as a reader is what filled me with with disapointment throughtout the book and relief when it ended. Im not trying to rap on this book or its author but truth be told i didnt enjoy it. And becaise of that i dont think i am willing to read anymore...but dont let that stop you if u enjoyed thos story. Peace.

Story line just ok. Characters were not great. She cried all the time. Too weak of a character for me. He wasnt much better. Interests were not clear at all, neither were the details of their relationship and break up. Tough to finish, I skimmed a lot and will not read more of her work.

I enjoyed the story but found Rebecca a rather weak person in some aspects of her life. There was way too much crying on her part so much so it was difficult to believe she had 'grown' as much as she thought. It kept my interest and I did like it but it never overwhelmed.

I also am glad this book was free. The book is poorly written and the editing is worse. How this book got published I do not know. I usually finish a book no matter how much I dislike like it, but I could'nt make it past the third chapter it is so bad. I found myself going back several times to check previous details that are not consistant. The story line and details are not well developed. I gave it a star because I had to. Now I am going to delete it.

Cute book BUT the characters were a little lame. Too much indecision when we all knew the end result.
