Children's librarian during the day, she begins visiting Philly's seedier nightspots on a quest for adventure and experience.
When Cortlandt "Cort" Ambler, the ex-boyfriend of Mad's sister, Jax, saves her from disaster on one such evening, an unlikely friendship is born between the rebellious librarian and the moonlighting pianist…and two broken hearts begin a journey toward being whole again.

5 Stars Marry Me Mad by Katy Regnery hits all the right notes with this story of devotion, loyalty, and love. As Katy continues her Blueberry Lane Series she never fails to give us beautifully crafted unique characters that we fall instantly in love with or ones we want to punch in the face! Katy's "Bad Guys" are as deliciously in depth as the heroes and heroines of her world. Katy writes manipulative and devious as well as she writes sticky sweet. In Mad's love for her twin, she almost misses out on her heart's true desire. Cort is determined to finally have his chance at his one true love. Their connection is ablaze with instant desire, and heady lust that quickly reminds these two what has always simmered under the surface... they were meant for each other all along. The undeniable connection that Mad has with Cort is a chorus of emotion, ripe with passion. Katy is a maestro as she conducts the symphony of love that is conveyed in just three little words......... "Baby, You're Music".
Katy Regnery has become one of my favorite authors and books like Marry Me Mad are the reason why. This is a story of loss, hope, betrayal, jealousy, forgiveness, and ultimately a love so strong that it could withstand all that came before it. Court and Mad are an amazing couple, yes, they are steamy (seriously!) but what I loved most was their sweet moments of understanding that bonded them together. The story also examines the loyalty' due to family, especially to twin sisters, versus following one's own heart. My heart broke for Mad and Court as each tried to make a difficult situation right and rejoiced when they found their hearts healed. Highly recommended!!
Katy Regnery Never disappoints, if anything, each book in, Blueberry Lane Series; The Rousseaus just gets better and better. This is Cort and Madeleine's story. A second chance story even though Mad didn't know, " it was always her". Mad and Jax are twin sisters,Mad was always thought as the quiet ,reserved one, but, still waters run deep. Cort dated Jax, unwillingly till read about how that came about. Sister codes are serious, twin codes even more so. But, hold on things aren't what they seem. Cort, a tattooed, rough yet eloquently spoken musician runs into Mad his always girl years after dating her sister Jax while in high school. She was drowning her sorrows after finding out her horrible boyfriend was indeed cheating on her, something she suspected. What comes about is a sweet yet rocky start to their forever story. Madeline was sometimes frustrating with her push and pull. But when things are made clear and she has a heart to heart with her sister Jax, and her blessings for going after what was always hers. There is no cheating, no triangles, just a lovely that stood the test of time and only became deeper for their efforts to finally have their HEA. I loved Marry Me Mad I loved the conflict even if it was in Mad's head. Catching up with Jax and the other siblings was an added bonus. Katy Regnery creates world's we want to live in. Families who's dysfunction we can relate to,and want to be part of. The sexy times are Hot( you'll never think of the Harp as merely a background instrument) you'll see.
“This is you, Mad. And you’re…Baby, you’re music.” I always look forward to Katy Regnery’s releases, but after getting a preview of Marry Me Mad in the earlier-released Jonquils For Jax, I was DYING to get my hands on this book! Once again, Katy did not disappoint. I have MAD LOVE ( see what I did there?) for the Rousseau ladies! Even though they grew up in a life of wealth and privilege, Katy gives us a heroine in Madeleine who lives much more modestly than her means. It was absolutely refreshing! Madeleine is down-to-earth and ambitious with her work for the public library system, while also being kind and beautiful. She was a very relatable character. In Cort Ambler, we have a sexy hero who you’d picture as a struggling musician, if not for the millions in his trust fund. For me, what makes him (arguably) the most swoonworthy hero of Blueberry Lane is his unwavering and unrequited love for Mad since their childhood. It completely endeared him to me, and I just couldn’t wait for him to get his happy ending. “In the depths of his heart he felt - no, he knew - that the universe had pre-ordained their reunion: that Madeleine Rousseau was meant for him, and he was meant for her, and tonight was just the beginning, the first page of their love story.” Katy gives us a passionate, angst-filled reunion of childhood friends, estranged after a misunderstanding years before, journeying toward finding their HEA. There are secrets to be revealed and misunderstandings to resolve…all of which compelling me to finish the book in one sitting. While this book is part of Katy’s beloved Blueberry Lane series, each book can be read as a complete stand-alone. I guarantee that you will be completely swept away by the beautifully written story told from dual POV. You will feel like you are escaping into contemporary romance at its best, but with completely endearing, flawed, and relatable characters. Katy Regnery has written us magic once again, which seems like it would be an impossible feat in the 13th book in the series! Bravo!!! I am now already anxiously awaiting Jean-Christian’s book in JC and Bijoux Jolis, releasing November 2016!!!
5 Stars for Marry Me Mad It came as no surprise to me that I loved Marry Me Mad. I am in love with all of Katy Regnery’s books and the Blueberry Lane series just gets better with each book. Why did I love Marry Me Mad? - Mad and Cort’s story is a sweet romance that goes back to their teenage years. As teenagers they had a secret attraction but things didn’t work in their favor. As adults they are finally given a chance at love. They have obstacles to overcome and I love seeing them come together to make their relationship work. - Besides their obvious physical attraction Mad and Cort have an emotional connection. There are hot and sexy scenes that will have you fanning yourself but what I loved most was the open communication they have. Mad had a painful break-up and Cort offers an understanding ear for her to vent off her frustration. Instead of taking advantage of her vulnerability Cort patiently waits for Mad to come to terms with her ex. Their relationship is a slow build which can only lead to a long-lasting relationship. - The Blueberry Lane series revolves around six wealthy families of Philadelphia. The mansions and expensive cars are trivial details because the focus is always on the characters. No matter the story I know I’ll meet characters that I’ll fall in love with. Their hopes, fears and dreams make them realistic characters who I can’t help but cheer on for a happily ever after ending. - Author Katy Regnery’s writing is flawless and I love the diversity in her stories. I love the romance, drama, humor and family unity she brings in each of her books. Marry Me Mad is the second book of The Rousseaus series and can be read as a standalone. But I highly suggest you start with the first book, Breaking Up With Barrett. You’ll get a better understanding of the Blueberry Lane series plus you don’t want to miss the steamy and swoon worthy romance of the other couples. I can’t wait to read the next books of this series!
This book is so passionate, caring, loving. I was sad when it was over. Cort is my new favorite book boyfriend! He knows what he wants and is not afraid to admit or say it. While Madeline knows how she feels but is afraid to admit it because of the fear of hurting her sister. I loved everything about this book!!!
Longing Although this is The Rousseaus Book #2, Blueberry Lane Series, it's the first I've read, as well as my 1st Katy Regnery book. But it won't be my last, I'll read it again, but after I read the 1st book of this series. I don't feel as I've lost anything by starting with this book first, but I will go back and read book 1, as well as the rest of the series! This could be read as a stand alone story, but I cannot wait to read the previous books, as well as the next one Katy's sending out J.C. AND THE BIJOUX JOLIS (The Rousseaus #3) Available 11.29.16! After getting a promotion Mad calls her boyfriend Thatcher to tell him the good news. Unfortunately he's not the one who answers his hotel room's phone, she's caught him cheating for the last time. Despondent she starts walking and ends up at a bar where a duet is playing French music. Fate has allowed Cort and Mad to meet up again after 10 years. He's always wanted her, even though he ended up dating her twin sister Jax their senior year in high school. Mad & Jax have an unwritten sister rule, they don't date the other's ex's. Which causes a MAJOR dilemma for Mad & Cort, how can they pursue each other with this hanging over their heads? Mad doesn't want to hurt her sister, but she wants to be with Cort. What will they do? Will Mad's ex just let her go, or cause another issue between them? Will Cort and Mad get their happily ever after fairytale, or will they have to wait for another time? You'll have to read MARRY ME MAD to find out! Due to explicit sexual content and adult language this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older. I received an ARC copy via Tasty Book Tours through NetGalley in exchange for a blog tour review. FAVORITE PASSAGE~ tonight was just the beginning, the first page of their love story
Such a beautiful and heartwarming story This is the 2nd book in the Blueberry Lane 3 series, each book can be read as a stand alone, but I don't recommend it. Each book adds to the story of the others. This story is just what romance is made from or should be. Two people who are their own person, but a united front, when necessary. I loved this book! These two deserve each other. They've earned their happiness, and the love that eventuates in their life.
***4 ‘Baby, you’re music’ Stars*** Katy Regnery does it again! I swear she has some witchy magic going on because she knows just how to get you hooked on the characters from the start so you can’t stop reading until they get their very well deserved HEA. I loved Cort. It’s really that simple. On the outside he looks like the ultimate bad boy and yet he has a sensitive soul. He’s sweet, charming, wickedly sexy and has determination in spades. Of course him being a musician made him that much sexier. I mean the ability to play almost any instrument and conjure up a melody or lyrics without batting an eye is a huge turn on. Huge. Mad and I had an interesting relationship and one that I’m still working out which side of the line she’ll settle on, but for the most part I liked her. She’s at a crossroads in her life where she is questioning the decisions she’s made and herself, so she’s a bit rattled and is tossed into a firestorm that she never saw coming. I loved her passion for her career and her loyalty to her family, but her tendency to put herself and her desires second to those of others had me wanting to reach out and shake her. When Cort and Mad were together and just being together it was a beautiful thing and showed how well matched they were. They saw each other’s souls and appreciated and respected who the other was. The chemistry between them was smexy as all get out. But Mad’s constant 180’s got tiring. Now before anyone jumps down my throat, I’m all for the “girl code” and “sister code”, I am, and I do understand why she was hesitant, but there is a limit to my understanding and Mad unfortunately reached that limit. Had Cort not come as clean as he could about what happened between him and Jax when they were 17, I’d feel differently, but he did and made it clear she needed to talk to her twin about what happened and why. Despite my irritation over that, I was very happy with how things ended up, though I do wish Mad had vented a little more on her ex. Marry Me Mad runs parallel to Jonquils for Jax and while I will always push for a series to be read in order, you can read it as a standalone. I’m not all too sure how I feel about J.C. but I’m definitely looking forward to watching him being brought to his knees! ~ Copy received from Social Butterfly PR and voluntarily reviewed ~
Mad is the quintessential good girl. Cort is the misunderstood bad boy. They seem worlds apart but really aren't all that different. Marry Me Mad is the journey of two people finding their voices individually and as a unit. Stepping outside of the box is a scary event in anyone's life but when your whole identity is being compared to a twin, it's even worse. Madeline is discovering who she is as a person and pulling off the label that she has been stamped with. Cort may be a little rough on the outside but his strength of character is in every action he makes. The way he treats Mad and the things he says to her are like sweet honey to the soul and music to the ears. Marry Me Mad is every woman's fantasy, to find the guy who sees only her. A breathtaking love story.
