About the Author

I started writing Regencies because of interest in the Napoleonic Wars. I like writing about warfare at sea and ordinary people of the British Isles, rather than lords and ladies. In my spare time I like to read British crime fiction and history, particularly the U.S. Indian Wars. I currently live in Utah. I'm a former park ranger, and double Rita Award and Spur Award winner. I have five interesting children and four grands. Favorite authors include Robert Crais and Richard Woodman.

After reading Beau Caruso I was never going to buy another Harlequin Regency because it was so bloody and disgusting. I am happy to say that I changed my mind. The Real Carla Kelly is Back - a very good plot, interesting character development, and a good read. I recommend it, this is more of the style Ms Kelly had during her stint with Signet.

I did not enjoy this book at all! I felt the writing was poor and the story line very unrealistic and rather pathetic. I was very disappointed because some of my favorite books are written by this author.
