A cursed dagger. A shipwrecked crew. A mysterious, glowing island. Shards of the tale appear in an ancient book under the name of a famous Rhihalven storyteller, and Martina, Heath, and London take it as a call to return to Sheardland.
Soon, these covert ambassadors from the human race discover something new. The blade is shrouded in enchantment—and imbibed with a curse. Someday it will destroy something essential to Sheardland’s existence, deep within the Earth.
The blade's power is coveted by many. But just who in Sheardland knows about the blade and what it was created to do?
Martina and her friends vow to find the dagger and destroy it. Their search brings them to the Isle of Bala Zopyre, the mysterious glowing island. The dagger itself, now so close to fulfilling its purpose, grows in strength, becoming dangerous for any to touch. And the ancient, omniscient sage Amara’s life seems mysteriously intertwined with that of the blade. But, is she still a friend to the three adventurers, or has she taken a different side in the fight to protect Sheardland?
With so much at stake, the trio must outwit the magic folk and prevent the dagger from destroying both worlds.
About the Author
Cori Nicole Smith Wamsley writes fun, quirky books for adults and children based on experiences that she found magical, interesting, or perplexing. Cori's Martina Mackenzie series was spawned from her experience working in an ice cream shop---which just feels whimsical---and her love for mystery and fantasy books. It is about a girl who takes her friends through an ice cream machine on a journey to help fairies, elves, and other creatures discover what is happening to their secret world. Confessions of the Editor Brigand exposes Cori's soul as the main character, Zhanna, struggles with her desire for perfect written communication and why it isn't taken seriously. Cori and Zhanna also both find online dating, especially the profiles, amusing (Zhanna spends a lot of time perusing them with her friends). The Knight and the Ninjas is Cori's first children's book---an epic poem. It features a clumsy knight charged with rescuing a princess from a dragon. When he falls through a magic mirror and lands in Japan, he meets ninjas, discovers his strengths, and achieves his quest with some help from his new friends. Cori also performs editing for other writers. She edited the book Ordinary People, Extraordinary Planet and the second edition of the Common Threads trilogy authored by Dr. Shellie Hipsky. She also edited the first book in the Glamorous Madison series (soon to be published), authored by Melanie Blue. Cori is a member of the Global Sisterhood (http://www.globalsisterhoodonline.org/). She holds a bachelor's in biology, a bachelor's in English, and a master's in English. Cori has written novels, magazine and newspaper articles, blog posts, and a variety of other pieces over her career.
