Ms DeCredico writes in an exciting and moving way the life of Mary Boykin Chestnut that leads the reader on an emotional, yet historical view of events from the Deep South which pinnacled in the clash between the North and South. An excellent source for understanding the real reason behind the Civil War and a better understanding of Southern pride.
