You will think it was Mary herself writing this! Boseman is an insightful and sensitive writer. The character's feeling and actions are spot on. Well done. Being Catholic I was skeptical, but I was pleasantly surprised and the story was respectful. Can'tt wait for book 2.

Though not true to the language of the time periid, it does help to think what might have taken place in the minds of Joseph, Mary and her family. I feel it could have gone much deeper.

This is a sweet interpretation of the story of Mary. However, some of contextual pieces are improvable. Velvet is a fabric that would not have existed. Mary would not be quilting but weaving fabric, and chairs as described just don't exist in that time frame

Short, but interesting from what Mary's prospective could have been.
