Brand has created a storyline that has adventure, loss, politics, and love. All of these aspects together make a wonderful thriller novel. The main character, Steve Barber, has been fighting for his country with all his heart. He does pretty much anything for the good of the people, even if it gets him into trouble. This is admirable and a personality a reader will find ideal for all soldiers around the world. There is a secondary character named Neena. She’s the love interest, and both of them together make for a captivating couple and a good backstory. This story is definitely heart breaking… many deaths and hard pasts-a reader should be prepared to truly think about the message behind this book. The plot moves at a steady pace, maybe one or two parts went a little too fast and it would be nice to know a little more. Otherwise, I understood everything and what was going on. I went online and actually fact-checked some lines and places the team went (I know that’s weird, shush.) and everything was fine. He did his research around the world and in the military, this is a very credible author. ONE critique I have: sometimes the storyline was choppy… it didn’t flow as nicely in some parts, but the story gets back on track with ease. It’s a book I would recommend to people who like books about politics and thrillers with a little bit of romance.

While it takes a little while to set things up I really got stuck in to this book from the very beginning. The relationship between the characters and the never say die attitude of all concerned makes it a fantastic read that I did not want to put down. I look forward to the next book in the series and highly recommend this book.

The Masada Protocol is a Middle East political/espionage thriller set in the near future. During the first part of the book, the author did a wonderful job setting up multiple subplots and believable characters. Additionally, he wrote in some cultural references which led me to think that his understanding of the tension between Israel and the Arab world was more than what most people see on the news. But once these subplots started to congeal, the storyline became very predictable and the characters seemed to morph into something less believable. The final portion of the story lacked any excitement, and some sentences written near the end made me realize that the author's understanding of the Mid East was not what I first thought, but I'll temper this final statement knowing that the book falls under the Fiction category.

This high-powered thriller comes directly from today's newspaper headlines; it should also be considered as a movie prospect. For those interested in international politics, this is a must-read. It has all the elements of a good read: technically- correct jargon, suspenseful plot, strong characters (good guys and bad guys!) Even a love story has been included and is essential to the story. And all the settings are shifted seamlessly thus avoiding choppiness. Got a few hours to put yourself in high it is.

The Masada Protocol hooks you from the beginning. You're drawn into the high-stakes, high-adrenalin, high-danger world of black ops in a region of fanatical terrorism, the Middle East. That and an insider's view of what really goes on in the world of high finance and how it is intertwined with the murky world of oil keeps you riveted. This book shines with a love of liberty and deepest admiration for those who anonymously defend that freedom. It is highly recommended for all who share those passions.

A great action packed read from beginning to end. My personal acid test is I had better be involved within the first 20 pages and the Masada Protocol passed with flying colors. I've always enjoyed books that start with seemingly unrelated settings and characters and as the story unfolds it becomes evident how they are intertwined. The reader knows it will happen, but it's a talent that some authors have to make this work and it's evident that Lee Broad has accomplished that with style. It's hard to believe this is his first book, but I'm ready for the second one.

This is a fast moving, easy to follow, book that is difficult to put down. This book's future time setting makes it particularly unnerving, in that you wonder if these events could really happen. I enjoyed this book much more than I did the recent Tom Clancy books.

Not having read a book by Lee Broad before, I had no preconceptions when I opened the cover of The Masada Protocol. It turned out to be a very good read. A tightly constructed, fast moving story line. good character development, oboviously well researched, and some unexpected plot twists. I am looking forward to his next one. Evan Collins

Hardly a day goes by that our news does not include world changing events happening in the Mideast. Lee Broad has captured the dynamic nature of that region as the setting for his fast paced novel. Superb integration of international politics, military intelligence, black world intrigue and complex international business transactions have resulted in a novel that readers will find difficult to put down. The readers will feel that they are right at the side of Steve and Neena as they race the clock to prevent a nuclear holocaust.

This first book has something for anyone interested in a fast paced spy thriller; international intrigue, romance, and very impressive research. The characters are true to form and interesting enough to hope they return in a sequel. The Middle East is ripe for clandestine adventure and Lee Broad delivers in spades with characters that are bigger than life and fun to get to know. The action is carefully choreographed and orchestrated to perfection. I would not be surprised to see this turned into a movie. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
