Essene and Sejanus, two dominant white-tailed bucks, have an appointment with destiny. However, first they have to get there, which is the real focus of this story.

For them to reach their full potential, these massive powerful bucks have to be protected and taught in meticulous fashion by their mothers. Without the matriarchs the white-tailed specie would be doomed. This fictional rendition of the intricate workings of white-tailed society is as much a tribute to the maternal side of the white-tailed world as it is the paternal. Everything has to work together, and work together well, to produce a Master Buck.

About the Author

Andrew Bennett has lived his entire life in the mountains of western Maine. At a very early age, during the extremely harsh winters of the 1960s, he developed a deep love and respect for the white-tail deer and their ability to survive.

Mr. Bennett graduated in 1976 from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelor of Science degree. This is his second novel, and most of it was conceived while he was deer hunting.
