True love is said to defy time, but can it survive space, aliens, and being abducted? Angus MacNamara and Erin O'Shea are about to find out.

The big blue planet that most call  Earth desperately needs matchmakers. There is only one small--okay, BIG--problem. No one wants the alien dating service job... No one. The original matchmakers are dead, and much worse, their DNA is no longer viable for cloning.

Solution? Go back in time to some of Earth's other--thankfully slower spinning--versions, and retrieve the alternates of the one couple in any universe who seems able to do the job.

Far easier said than done though, especially when the alternates are anything but a loving couple, and both are none too pleased to be thrown into the future.

What does oil and water create? Salad dressing or a real fecking mess of aliens, humans, and matchmaking fun!

Go Where The Story Takes You! Intergalactic, crazy funny characters, with some time travel (whether they wanted to or not). I love reading sci-fi books, the storyline and humor made this book that much more appealing. Recommend to anyone looking for a fun, new & different type story.

Time travel, aliens, and kilts. Oh, my! It's safe to say that contemporary romantic comedies are my favorite romance sub-genre, but there's this hidden (maybe not so hidden) side to me that has loved time travel and alien action since I was a kid. Combine that with some comedy and the written word and I'm a little bit giddy! I've been a reader of Donna McDonald's contemporary works for a couple of years and enjoy how she doesn't shy away from older (35+) adults getting their happily-ever-after. She does the same here, but gives them the scientific advantage of fiction where adulthood is barely beginning at that age. I won't go into any details of this story, because it's more fun to just dive in. Just know that you get an aging Scot/Irish alpha of a man with a second lease on life and a fiery female who has always loved him. They are thrust into a literal future with expectations while dealing with the unknown - mulit-universes, aliens and rapid technology. All this while only having each other to rely on for support and comfort. This makes for great comedy and sweet romance. Note that there is a HEA/HFN at the end of this story, but a cliffhanger of sorts for the how, why and what's of the Matchmaker Abduction program. I'm looking forward to seeing what couple(s) are featured in the next book, while also visiting with Angus, Erin and the various aliens who are waiting for their turn to be "matched." (I voluntarily read an advanced copy of Matchmaker Abduction. This is my honest and unbiased review)

First impression, I am totally going to enjoy this book! Comedy crossing over into sci-fi? Yes, a nerd's dream come true! Angus and Erin have the fire and ice down to an art and I am chomping at the bit to read how they adapt to their new environment. This storyline is brilliant! The personalities of these characters are highly addictive and I am scrambling now to make sure I have the next book in this series. I find myself wanting books about the two cloned guards even! This is truly an excellent read! This voluntary review is based against a copy that was given to me.

I was given an Advanced Review Copy, by the author, in return for a honest review. This is the first book in the Aliens In Kilts series. The writing was witty, the well paced plot really drew me in, and the characters were believable. The whole idea of a sci-fi, alien, time traveling romance really caught my interest and it didn't disappoint! Can't wait to read the next novel in the series. - Sarah

Best McDonald read yet!! First pages were "Grab you and not let go"! Angus MacNamara and Erin O'Shea are from Universe 6 Ireland year 1958. Arriving are the Men in Black from Universe 1 year 2497 to transport Angus and Erin there to perform alien matchmaking. Everything is included from science fiction, time travel, romance and a read that will put a smile on your day. Cannot wait for the next abduction!! A copy of this book was provided by Donna McDonald with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Matchmaker Abduction by Donna McDonald Aliens in Kilts, Abduction 1 What fun! This book had me smiling and caring and laughing as I read. McDonald has created a world of universes that rely on one another and as this book begins there is great need of matchmakers to match aliens with humans. Who is brought in to solve things? Angus MacNamara and Erin O’Shea. The two had a testy relationship before their abduction BUT with a second chance in a new time period and location will they manage to find a HEA? There are aliens, clones, women drafted to be brides, a relationship to build, and a whole lot more going on in this book. I enjoyed the realistic and often humorous interactions between Erin and Angus, the friendship building done by Angus with Nate and the aliens and the intriguing ideas introduced about the world and multiverses. I am looking forward to reading more in the series and hope I won’t have to wait long to read book two of the series. Thank you to the author for the ARC. This is my honest review. 5 Stars
