I have to say that I found Elise Sax purely by accident when I saw her first book, An Affair to Dismember, at Walmart, no less. It looked interesting, so I bought it. BestDecision EVER! Elise Sax manages to come up with the most hilarious characters and place them in the most hilarious situations. She pulls you in from the first page and does not let you go even after you've finished the book. FYI = please do not eat or drink anything while you are reading this book, because if you do, you will probably choke if you're eating or spew fluid out of your nose if you're drinking! I will say = Bridge Over the River Kwai = that is all. If you've already read this book you understand. If you haven't read it = BUY IT = and then you will understand. I have always been a voracious reader and there area lot of authors I love, but Elise Sax is the one author I cannot forget! Cindy R.

I have now had the opportunity to read both of the books  in the Matchmakers series by Elise Sax. The second book Matchpoint kept me just as enthralled as the first, An Affair to Dismember. Ms. Sax has a great way of telling a good mystery as well as a very humorous story. I was not only in suspense wondering who exactly had killed Dr. Dulur but I also found myself laughing a lot during this book. I really like Gladie, that girl can get her self in to some really sticky situations but has so far been lucky to have someone come to her rescue just in time. Gladie tries her best to be a good matchmaker but she just doesn't have her grandmother's natural talent. She does seem to have a natural talent for solving murders even if she tries her best to stay uninvolved. I loved how she would try to take a step back and another person would drag her back in.  Gladie has an interesting relationship with the HOT mystery man next door, Holden. Holden has a few secrets unveiled in this story.  There is also Spencer the hot police chief that seems to have a very nasty case of Happy Pants, that got him in some trouble. Spencer finds the need to take some down time from all the women in his life and ends up staying with Gladie. Gladie and Spencer have another interesting relationship. Gladie isn't sure she wants anything to do with Spencer after a few run ins with the women in his life.  Over all this was a very intriguing mystery, I was somewhat surprised by who the culprit is. I love to laugh when reading and Ms. Sax has inter weaved some hilarious moments in her mystery. If you enjoy a good book with mystery and humor, you really should check out Elise Sax's Matchmaker series.  I can't wait for the next book in the Matchmaker series to see what trouble Gladie can get herself in next.

This is the second book in the Matchmaker Series by Elise Sax.  I was lucky enough to be able to immediately read this one after reading An Affair to Dismember, the first book in the series.  I went into this book with extremely high expectations, and am happy to say that not only did Ms. Sax meet them, she exceeded them. Matchpoint starts about a month after the end of An Affair to Dismember.  Gladie is sitting in Bird Gonzalez's beauticians chair, getting talked into having the Ecuadoran Erect applied to her hair to straighten it.  Once this is done, Gladie looks like a whole different person.  So much so that most people don't recognize her... at all.  Gladie has made only 1 other match since the one in the last book.  But things are looking up, since she has had a customer specifically ask for her.  Belinda is the receptionist at Bliss Dental, and though Gladie has a pathological fear of any medical personnel, she heads to Bliss Dental office to meet with Belinda. On her way to her appointment with Belinda, Gladie comes across a group of people wearing backpacks and t-shirts about being taken by aliens.  Little does she know how strange these strangers to their little town are going to get. When Gladie gets to the dentist office, and meets Belinda, Gladie realizes that this match may be a little harder than she anticipated.   Especially after she faints from the sight of a drill, wakes up in the dentist chair and is warned she has some serious cavities that need to be taken care of.  And then while she is under the gas to get her teeth filled, someone kills the dentist.  Belinda becomes a prime suspect and now not only does she want Gladie to match her up, but to prove she is innocent.   I don't know how the author plans on topping this book, but I can't wait to find out.  This book kept me giggling and gasping out loud.  All the characters from the first book are accounted for and just as uncontrollable as before. There is more of the love triangle between Gladie, Spencer and Holden, and things start to heat up.  This was a fantastic sequel and well worth another 5 stars.

I am unsure as to what exactly this book was about. Is it about her being a matchmaker or a wanna be private eye? It seemed like it went back and forth between the two during the course of this book. I think that this is the second book in the series, at least I hope so because if it wasn’t then there was a lot that the author left out in the open. Gladie’s character seemed to not be complete in my opinion. I was left wanting more from her during the course of the book. She just felt incomplete to me. I was really confused about the ‘love triangle’ that was taking place as well. The other characters in the book you were left wondering what exactly their role in the book was about. Were they put in there so they could have more focus in future books? Or just as comic relief during the course of this book? All in all, while this book was different, it just left me wanting more than what was given. Review provided by Crystal's Many Reviews

The town of Cannes is besieged by a cult-like group, awaiting the Arrival of some alien types from the nearby Mountain. Gladie is still trying to make it as a matchmaker, and her first official client works at at dental office,a place Gladie generally tries to avoid at all costs. When the dentist ends up dead, her client is under suspicion and Gladie puts on her investigator hat again. There's a lot of goofiness at the beginning of the book and I think the storyline could have been streamlined a bit, but it was another fun read for summer.

Gladie is back and thank goodness she is! Matchpoint by Elise Sax is the second book in her Matchmaker Series.  Gladie Burger is back and the continuing story just keeps getting better.  The story picks less than a mother after An Affair to Dismember ended and brings back all your favorite characters from the first book adding more and more laughs.  Thankfully we still get to hear about Cannes, California’s sexy police chief, Spencer, who just can’t seem to stay away from Gladie and Holden, her even sexier neighbor who can’t keep his hands off of her! Gladie is on to her second paying client wanting to be “matched” with the perfect mate. While visiting her client, an office receptionist to a dentist, Gladie ends up entwined in another murder mystery.  Add to that, the madcap happenings in and around Gladie and you get a story that is reminiscent of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum and her love triangle and crazy happenings. Elise Sax wrote a laugh out loud, hysterically funny and yet sweet story that will keep you coming back wanting to hear more about Gladie’s adventures which continue in Match and Release scheduled to be release in February of 2014.

Gladie the matchmaker is mixed up in murder again. A trip to the dentist ends up with her gassed to the gills, the dentist faceless and Gladie’s first real client as number one suspect. Now Gladie not only needs to find her a match she needs to keep her out of jail too. The men in her life, hunky Holden next door and sexy Sheriff Spencer, don’t agree on much but they agree that Gladie shouldn’t be investigating the dentists murder. The murderer agrees with them as well and if they don’t find him first Gladie’s matchmaking days may be over. A funny mystery that will keep you on edge and laughing. Like Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum Gladie has a wonderful cast of supporting characters including her grandmother, two best friends, and of course the two sexy men in her life. Like Evanovich the sex scenes are not too detailed and are fairly benign. This series is getting better and better. I look forward to the future misadventures of Gladie and company

Gladie Burger is a match maker in training. Some call her family witches, but her family believes they just have an extra sensory ability. In her eccentric ways, Grandma Zelda tries to help guide Gladie down the right path to the perfect matches. Trouble is never in short supply in Gladie's home town and it seems Gladie finds her way into the center of it all. The town has been over run with an alien worshipping cult, creating havoc and alarming the towns folk. The sheriff has gotten himself into some Facebook relationship trouble and is hiding out from his knife wielding lovers in Gladie's bedroom, sexually harassing/tormenting her the whole time. Her hunky boyfriend Holden is being distant and aloof, and somehow knows the cult leader. Maybe the biggest problem is when Gladie wakes up from her dental anesthesia to find her dentist murdered and her the prime suspect. Gladie really has a lot on her plate. She must find the perfect match for the dental assistant, clear her name of the murder and figure out who is the killer, discover what is going on with Holden and get the sheriff out of her bedroom. Maybe not in that order in probably in the most unorthodox way imaginable. She might have a better chance seeing a donkey fly. This was an absolutely hilarious parade of a quirky small town. Be prepared to laugh out loud at the mayhem that is called Gladie's life.  I loved this book it was a refreshing read, bringing some much needed hilarity to my day. If you are a fan of Stephanie Plum's adventures you're going to love Gladie Burger. Matchpoint has a strong plot, a steamy love triangle, wonderfully interesting characters and brilliantly executed humor.
