Decent story but after reading 2 other books of the series the fixation on spanking is nearly getting on my nerves. Especially how they turn from fairly strong minded women into simpering weenies that suddenly LOVE being spanked and forego standing up for themselves.

This is one of the best in the series so far. It is very well written, has an excellent plot and once again has believable, likable characters. Sex scenes have been cut bact a bit not overwhelming the story and more appropriately placed which I greatly appreciate. My Nook shows 104 pages but in all of the books they are doubled. Two page threes, two page fours etc. so there are actually 208 pages in total in this book. cjbevil

While this book is a stand-alone, it's in the same world as her other books. I chose to read this book, because I liked the whole feel of the story and plot, though I was hesitant due to spanking the synopsis had described. It delivered a well-written story with likable characters.

4.5 stars of a steamy sci-fi romance. (Spanking is involved.) I have read a few of Ms. Goodwin's books from this series and I like them well enough but I think they are very short (112pgs.) for the amount of $$ you pay for them. Each nook book can be read as a standalone, but they all are connected by the women going to a bride processing facility for one reason or another to be joined to aliens men. This story is about Dax, a warlord from a race of Atlan, who is going into mating heat and has a beast inside who needs to mate. If he does not mate soon he will become the beast permanently, which means a killing machine, out in space/on a ship! He gets processed to find his perfect mate in which Sarah, (human and his match), went to the facility on Earth by mistake, months earlier. She was trying to join the Coalition to try and find her last remaining older brother since her other two older brothers were killed by the Hive. (Coalition's enemy) There is a lot of chemistry, steamy loving, action, and fast pace reading. Overall it is a good short story, just wish she wrote longer ones for the price. I do like that the stories are a bit different by matching of different alien men races to the human women,****

As much as I loved Nial's story(Taken by Her Mates), I am going to have to say that this one is my favorite in the series. Dax is our first Atlan mate (and hopefully, not the last) and we get to find out about their traits which are totally different from the Prillon, Viken, and Trion mates. Even though Sarah is a soldier, she was accidentally processed as a Bride before the mistake was discovered. This story is a little different as it takes place on the front lines of the Hive/Coalition War. The story flows so smoothly that I could not put the book down. The author does a fantastic job of giving us enough background on both main characters that you feel that you really get to know them. Loved both Dax and Sarah, they are perfectly matched (of course). I am looking forward to more books in this series. I still have my fingers crossed to see the stories for Warden Egara and the men from the Colony.

actually its a 3.5 because I do like the interstellar bride theme...I like it a lot. But...the books need to be longer with more on the main chars. It's too simplistic to get a higher rating. The writer does have talent and she should work on pulling in other chars with action and world building.

This book is brilliant! A dominant alien mate, strong heroine who does not do anything ridiculously foolish, romance, caring, lust, dominance, fight scenes, both hero and heroine save the day, these elements all combine to make an exciting read. I received this book from Stormy Night Publications as an advance review copy.
