MATRIX is published on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of this groundbreaking contemporary art exhibition series at the UC Berkeley Art Museum. Originally conceived in 1978 as a rotating program of single-artist exhibitions, it continues as a space of active engagement with contemporary art and ideas.
