About the Author

Ann Jungman was born in London, of German Jewish parents. She attended school in Hornsey and then went on to study law at university. Her decision to change careers and become a primary school teacher inspired her to become a writer for children. However, she didn't start writing until 1982 and held a number of jobs after leaving teaching. She worked as a research officer in the Law Department at the LSE; as a research assistant to a Professor of Politics and Sociology at Birbeck College, London; a social interviewer at Essex University; as a part time lecturer in English, European and American Literature and History in the Extra-mural Department at London University; and as a part-time teacher of English and History at the City and East London College.

Ann Jungman spent a couple of years in Australia and she now lives in North London.
