About the Author
Anthony Dwayne Amos is the founder of Maverick Leaders for Life Unlimited, an organization committed to providing communities with educational and consulting services for the improvement of the social health of the people they serve. Anthony is the oldest of six children and grew up in Jackson Mississippi where he learned about life. He has been married twenty-three years to CaSondra Amos and they are the parent of Anthony Jr., Auriel, and Austin Amos. His marriage gave him the insight of what it takes to have a healthy relationship. He played college football at the University of Mississippi from 1988 to 1992. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, Incorporated. Anthony credits his achievements to hard work and good advice from his mother Gloria Bryant and other thoughtful people willing to share their experiences. The author learned how to overcome adversity during his brief opportunities to play defensive back with the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League and the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League. Those experiences taught him that life gives us no guarantees. He has a Master's of Science that he uses to help the community through public health efforts. Currently, Anthony enjoys being the Assistant Manager of Infectious Diseases with the Shelby County Health Department in Memphis, Tennessee and uses every opportunity to provide advice and training to at-risk males on health and self-leadership.
