I am new to using Maya and recently purchased Maya Unlimited 6.0. I picked this book up first to get a taste of Maya while waiting for my software to arrive. There were many helpful books that came with the software as well as some informative CD's. This book can be complicated, but don't give up on it. I have already learned so much out of it because it starts you out easy. Refering back to the included material is a must to understand some of the techniques in this book. I wouldn't recommend this for beginners such as myself, but for intermediate to pros I would.
