""I wanted to know where I was going by the time I was thirty,"" a frustrated Stan said to his wife. ""Now I'm forty, I still don't know.""

Stanley Archibald Price has just turned forty and he's bored. Stuck in a bank job he doesn't like, he's surrounded by boring friends and has no idea what he wants to do with his life. So for the first time ever, Stan starts to make big changes! He takes a well deserved break from it all in a secluded bush retreat, but chaos has a way of following him around and soon his relaxing hideaway is awash with unexpected guests and all sorts of mayhem. However, things begin to look up for Stan and his (just about) faithful wife Debbie when they come into a large sum of money, but will they stay out of trouble for long?

About the Author

John Knight Dooley was born during World War Two in Leeds England to a working class family. He worked all his life as a travel agent in England, Zambia, where he started to write sketches before emigrating to Western Australia in 1973.Having had some success with poetry, short stories, sketches and enjoying telling jokes at concert parties, John decided to try his hand at writing a humorous novel. He loves the tongue in cheek approach and says that anyone of any age can read his work without being offended by many of the rude words accepted today on television and books. The same applies to intimate descriptions, which are 'Benny Hillesque.' In other words, some situations are more suggestive than descriptive.
