Born in 1935 to Jewish parents, Andrew Sater was only 8 years old in 1943 at the peak of WWII when found on the street by George McMullan, journalist and social diplomat. He rescued Jewish childen and hid them from the German police in the Netherlands. Many forces were against him - an encounter at a concentration camp, a mysterious illness, partial blindness, and an unrequited romance. But love and family rendered him a favorable living under the influence of McMullan himself.
