Rarely do I take time to review someting, but, I bought this book from Barnes and Nobel, so just in case, someone is on the fence, I decided to post one here. If you play music, or even if you don't, this is a book you gotta read. Victor Wooten is a truly gifted bassist but, until now, there was little real information about him, his music, and how it all came to be. This book changes that. In addition to a really cool life story, you can also learn a great deal about the bass guitar, music, even the martial arts, believe it or not. This was one of the best biographies I have read and one I recommend highly to anyone. A really good book and one that carries some positive messages for us all.

This book was a surprise. I read it because I wanted to learn more about Victor Wooten as I heard him for the first time recently on a Bela Fleck and the Flecktones tour and was just blown away. What surprised me was the writing and how Victor Wooten's life story was told. It is different than most biographies, less dry, more real...less boring I guess. I am going to read Paul Hargett's first book next just to see what it is like. Buy this book and you won't be sorry. I figure if you are reading this you probably know who Victor is already. If you don't, this book will tell ya all about him.

Wow. I just finished this book and it is an icredible biography. I bought the book because I was a Victor Wooten fan, and would probably have enjoyed ANY book about Victor, but this was amazing. Victor's life story is a cool one and this writer does a great job of telling it. It reads better than any biography I have every read and is filled with stuff that any musician (like me) would love. It talks about music and the bass guitar and Victor's career. I highly suggest this book to anyone, musician or not.

I was fortunate enough to read this book prior to release, and I must say that I have never been so compelled to meet and see a Musician of this statue. Victor Wooten's life from age 2 to date has been outlined in this biography (different from any other biography I have read)as one of the most interesting and heart warming stories I have ever had the chance to read. Whether you are a musician or not this story is one you will enjoy from beginning to end. The Author has done an excellent job on the aspects of Victor's life and where he is heading in his truimph for world peace.
