Jennifer Rothschild's new book, 'Me, Myself & Lies' is a priceless treasure. Every woman (and man) should read this beautiful heartfelt book. We have all had negative thoughts about ourselves, we would never think of speaking these negative thoughts to someone else, so why are we saying them to ourselves? 'Me, Myself & Lies' walks us through weeding out our "thought closet". Step by step Jennifer encourages us to getting ride of those negative thoughts and replace them with positive truth, God's truth. Her personal stories and great sense of humor made me feel as if I was sitting at her table having a coffee and chatting about life. Jenifer is truly a blessing and many will be encouraged, blessed and changed by this book! Jennifer also wrote a teen version of this book called 'Me, Myself & Lies for young women', this would be a great gift for any young lady around the ages of 12 to 18.

If you have ever felt defeated, this is a book for you. Jennifer has put her finger on the problem of listening to that whispered voice inside our minds that tells us we are “stupid,” “not enough,” “worthless,” and I could go on. When we listen, repeat, and allow our spirits to agree with those words, we become defeated. This scripturally based book cleverly uses the concept of a closet for our thoughts. Every closet needs cleaning out occasionally and Jennifer shows us how to clean out our thought closets to allow some new thoughts to enter…the thoughts God has toward us. The subject matter is very biblical in its approach and is not a self-help book but a “God help us” book! You will be very glad you purchased Me, Myself, and Lies and will soon be recommending it to others.

I would recommend “Me, Myself & Lies” to EVERY woman, but especially to the woman who struggles with low self esteem due to the faulty things (lies!) she thinks about herself. Jennifer gives very practical examples of things we should say to ourselves. She doesn’t just point out what is wrong with our thinking but gives correct thoughts to replace the incorrect thoughts (lies!). She also shares many personal stories, some of which are quite hilarious! When you read this book, you WILL laugh and learn, and Jennifer’s prayer for you is that you change and grow.

Most of my life, I have been stuck in a cycle and didn’t know how to change. The cycle of negative self-talk. For the most part, I didn’t even know I was doing it. I was unaware of my thoughts and how they affected the rest of my life. That may seem ridiculous, but honestly, are you aware of your thoughts? Me, Myself, & Lies by Jennifer Rothschild opened my eyes to see into my thought life. Not only did Jennifer enlighten me to how negative my thought patterns were, but she also gave very practical and Biblical advice of how to CHANGE these thought patterns. At the end of the chapters, she also introduced me to other people recognized and changed their thought patterns. Her honesty in sharing personal stories of trials and triumphs throughout her life coupled with her compassion made it seem like Jennifer was sitting across the table and talking to me personally. On every page in every chapter, she pointed me to Jesus and gave multiple Scriptures to help reinforce her points. After reading this book, I can honestly say that I feel like a better person. I no longer let my thoughts control me in a negative way; I take each thought captive and turn it over to Jesus. I have a whole different mindset of how I think about my thoughts. I highly recommend this book to EVERYONE. Even if you think you don’t need it, you WILL benefit from it. You might as well purchase multiple copies because you’re going to want to give it to your friends too!

I've never realized that my thought life is like a closet. In this book Jennifer will teach you how to transform your thought life by tidying up your closet (mind) by speaking positive to yourself, not matter what others have said about you (even family members) You're not what they said or keep saying about you, even what you keep saying to yourself in a negative way. In this book, you will discover your true identity in God.

As with every book or bible study that Jennifer writes, this book is encouraging, true, funny and necessary. Jennifer Rothschild nailed it with this book. Most of us speak negatively to ourselves. We listen to negative talk from others or the enemy, choose to believe it, and then let it move in. I love the way Jennifer always leads me back to the Bible! She encourages the reader to replace negative self talk with the truth of God's Word. I highly recommend this book and the Bible study by the same name.

I loved “Me, Myself, and Lies” and felt it was very timely in my life. Jennifer Rothschild shares with the reader how to revamp our thought closets, replacing negative self-talk with purposeful soul-talk. Her nuggets of wisdom and God’s truths guide the reader with specific steps on how to rid our thought closet of further harmful negativity to our souls and begin catching them before they enter. We need to talk to ourselves in the same way Jesus does, with loving kindness, forgiveness, encouragement, biblical truths, and fortifying messages of soul-talk. I loved this book and I know the Lord led me to read it at exactly the right time. I don’t think there was one page that I didn’t highlight! It is full of wisdom, hope, practical tips, and applications that the reader can implement in their lives to start taking action today! It is essential that we stop the negative self-talk, it is so damaging and cumulative. Jennifer sprinkles the pages with humor, hope, insight, life examples, biblical verses and truths. I love that she shares a peek into not only her own thought closet but also some wonderful Christian authors, singers, and speakers; Laura Story, Lysa Terkeurst, Chonda Pierce, Kathy Trocolli, Margaret Feinberg, Meredith Andrews, Liz Curtis Higgs, Stormie O’Martian, and Lisa Whelchel’s. I loved getting a glimpse into their thought closets and the wisdom they shared. It made me realize that even the people that we think have it all figured out, can have the same struggles and deal with the same propensity with negative self-talk. These are a few of my many favorite quotes from “Me, Myself, and Lies” “Hope is a choice. It might have feelings that accompany it, but hope is not a feeling. It’s more. It’s certain. It’s a decision that allows us to be steady and sure. It anchors us to something greater than ourselves and has great influence over how you feel when things get difficult.” Jennifer Rothschild “When we place our trust in Christ, when we have faith in Him, He gives us the gift of His Spirit to help us in this life. The Spirit fulfills several roles for us, and as we rely on Him rather than ourselves only, we are better equipped to speak healthy, truthful soul talk-and to keep the thought closet tidy!” Jennifer Rothschild Jennifer Rothschild writes from the heart and soul. Her words are faith-filled and inspirational. I am confident that the readers reading this book will walk away with a healthy, faith-filled perspective and be more mindful of what they are saying to and about themselves, as I am now. I love that Jennifer also wrote a version for teenagers, because they are inundated with false messages and perceptions. “Me, Myself, and Lies truly blessed me. I love Jennifer’s writing style, it was smooth flowing and filled with hope. She shares her own life stories in an authentic, relatable, and honest way. I will be rereading it and using the countless cornerstones, processes, and examples used in the book in my own life. I am going to purposefully revamp my thought closet, ridding it of offensive messages and fill it with soulful, purposeful, God given thoughts and truths. I am sure there is a learning curve but I am committing to it. I hope you consider buying a copy for yourself. I feel the message is so urgently needed because I think we all struggle with negative self-talk. I believe we could all use a little revamping in our present thought closets.
