Eren Jager was tired. Very, very tired. He and his pocket had recently faced a collection of Shadows, a basic kind of Heartless, but they were not the problem. The real problem ha been the Dark Titain accompanying the Shadows.
Back before Heartless had begun their invasion on Eren's world, they worst threat to humanity had been the Titains, nearly invicible giants that ate humans. But once Heartless joined the frey, it had become almost unbearable: two he<_>llbent races that were next to unkillable!! The Walls that had protected humanity till then were overrun quickly, and humans now survived in Pockets, small nomadic groups, protected by a select few master killers. Luckily, Eren had been given a strange gift before the Great Invasion: by mutilating himself, he was able to become a Titain, and was able to fight easily for a while. However, once the Heartless began attacking the Titains, things began to get ugly.
When a Heartless attacks any normal human, it turns into a Heartless, whose threat level is equal to the darkness in that person. Since a Titain is nearly 100% Bloodlust, when a Titain become a Heartless, it become nigh-unstoppable. The only way to kill a Titain was to cut a slit 10 centimeters by 1 centimeter in the back of it's neck. But since a Dark Titain was a combination of Titain and Heartless, the only way to kill it was to make the same cut, but with a Herald. And since Heraldweilders didn't tend to venture into this world, the best Eren and his pocket could do was to dematerialize it temporarily, and hope it didn't show up again.
Eren's best friend, Armin, walked over with a bowl of soup for Eren. "Don't worry, Eren. We just have to keep moving till we find a Portal. Then, we can leave this da<_>mned place!" He said, handing Eren the soup. Eren pushed it away. "I don't want to leave." He murmured. "I swore I would kill every single Titain. And I will, Normal or Dark!!" Armin shook his head at Eren. "Yes, I know, but we can't do that like this!! We need to regroup and find some Heraldweilders to help us. Then we can fight back!!"
Armin took the soup bowl back. "Come on, we need to start moving again." He said, getting up as he did. Eren got up as well, and nearly fell over. Luckily, Armin caught him. "Woah!! Eren! Are you alright!?" He voiced his query. Eren gave Armin a blank look. "Armin...I'm tired. So tired..." Armin gave him a grim smile. "Don't worry, we'll be resting in a new dimension soon. We can do it, Eren. We need you." He said consoling his friend. Erin stood up by himself again, shook off Armin, and walked on alone, recovered. Armin shook his head. Eren was the only thing keeping them from being all turned into Heartless. He was the main protector of this Pocket of 30-odd people, even though there were people like himself and Mikasa to help. While Mikasa and Armin could kill Titains, only Eren stood even a ghost of a chance against a Dark Titain, so they relied on him a lot. If they could just get to a better place, a place where a Heraldweilder was...
"We have to go." Mikasa called to Armin. He shook himself out of his ponderings and followed. With one last worried glance at Eren, he continued his march.
((Hi guys. Gargamel here. Yup, I'm using Attack On Titain now. Deal with it. B). ))
