The New York Times bestselling author of Pucked and The Good Luck Charm delivers a Hollywood happily-ever-after where a famous heartthrob falls for his ultimate fangirl.

"As charming as its title, but it's also so much more... Fans of Jasmine Guillory's The Wedding Date and Helen Hoang's The Kiss Quotient will love Meet Cute." — The Washington Independent Review of Books

Kailyn Flowers was always calm, rational, and controlled—until she ended up sprawled all over Daxton Hughes, the former actor she totally crushed on as a teenager. Then she did the unthinkable: She became a mortifying fangirl in five seconds flat, which may or may not have included professing her undying love. And oddly, he didn't run away. In fact, their meet cute led to a friendship she never saw coming. Of course, she never saw his betrayal coming, either...

Now Dax needs her help. As guardian to his thirteen-year-old sister, he's in way over his head. And though Kailyn hasn't forgiven Dax, she isn't heartless enough to make him fend for himself, either. Soon their friendly meetings turn into flirty dinner dates, and Kailyn can feel their chemistry is as explosive as ever. But how can she possibly let down her guard again to a guy who has heartbreak written all over him?

A stand alone novel from the very talented Helena Hunting. An embarrassing meeting between Kailyn and former actor Daxton Hughes in college morphed into a friendship that eventually left Kailyn feeling betrayed. Now 8 years later Dax is in need of a lawyer and Kailyn is the one he turns too. Can she get past her anger and hurt to help Dax when he suddenly finds himself guardian to his 13 year old sister? Ms. Hunting wove a story that drew me in and held me captivated. The camaraderie, banter and friendship that Kailyn and Dax had made this a joy to read and I really was cheering for these two to get their happily ever after. The chemistry between them was intense and you could feel the sizzle in the air. I loved how all in Dax was when he stepped up and put his sister Emmie and her needs before all else; what a swoon worthy man. It was also heartwarming to see the relationship between Kailyn and Emmie develop. I love Ms. Hunting's style of writing, she ensures that her characters are not “perfect”. I found it easy to relate to Kailyn and Dax. This was a story that had me entertained and I happily recommend Meet Cute.

Well I also read Meet Cute in one day. It pulled me in right away and had me curious to know how everything was going to play out. Dax and Kailyn's meet cute is hilarious! I love how their relationship started and how they come back to that moment multiple times. Dax is a great guy with a lot on his plate after the terrible accident. He tries to do so much and doesn't give himself enough credit. Kailyn is a sweet girl, but also has a fiesty side to her as well. She has a big heart and cares deeply about those close to her. Her and Dax together are so cute! They have so many ups and downs throughout the book, but they fight for what they want. I found the storyline very interesting and emotional. I felt so bad for Emme and everything she has to deal with throughout the book. She's a good kid and doesn't deserve that. I hate a certain character very much; they're really quite evil. The epilogue was very cute and fitting for the story.

I just adore Helena Huntings books. I really enjoyed this book, Meet Cute. The story was quite sad at times. But it was so much more. The chemistry between Dax and Kailyn was off the charts. There was also humor which Helena does so well! I reccomend this book.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect with this book and was pleasantly surprised. I have read it twice now and enjoyed it both times. Daxton Hughes is well known for being a teen heartthrob because he starred on a hit television show when he was younger. Fast forward almost 10 years later and he is a very hot and successful lawyer. Kailyn is also a lawyer and they happen to meet again unexpectedly and haven't seen each other since college. This book has some sad moments and those circumstances cause the two of them to be around each other more often. The chemistry is still there years later and is hard for both of them to deny. They have grown up a lot over the years and enjoy being aound each other. There were some definite funny moments in this book as well. Great job, Helena. Enjoy!!!

Meet Cute was even better than I had expected. Having never read anything by Helena Hunting before I didn’t know what kind of book she writes. I was sort of expecting something super fluffy and light and a bit silly. This was so much more than that. It was moving and emotional as well as laugh-out-loud funny and completely swoony. Hunting can definitely add me to her list of readers because I need to hunt down more of her books! I loved every minute of this and will shove this book at all of my fellow contemporary readers.

Dax and Kailyn were so perfect together! Their Meet Cute all those years ago couldn’t be more perfect! The fact that they couldn’t stay mad at each other was even cuter! The emotional punch they packed, and the feelings they evoked, unexpected but so meaningful and powerful! College rivals until a misunderstanding made them enemies. A chance meeting years later at a tragic time. An overwhelming attraction neither could contain, and moments that nearly destroyed it all. The joyful epilogue had tears of joy running down my face, because they deserved all the happiness in the world, and the fact they finally got it, had me overcome!

Kailyn Flowers likes her life calm and always in order. On her first day of law school as she is walking to her first class she collides with Daxton Hughes, the ex-actor and guy crush of her teenage years and her inner fan girl comes to life. This starts a fun relationship between these two that continues up until the very end of law school when he ends up betraying her. Flash forward, they are both lawyers and Dax has come to her company's law firm because she manage his sister's trust. Dax recently has become guardian to his 13 year old sister, Emme, and his aunt is trying to contest the guardianship. Of course the sparks are still flying between these two! The court appoints Kailyn as Emme's conservator and she ends up spending a lot of time with Emme and especially Dax. These two quickly heat up and are finding that they really are great together. As they both try to work again his Aunt, they find that they may found the person they were meant to be with. I loved this story. I really loved both Dax and Kailyn. They were both smart, sweet people who were making sure things were right for Emme. This was a fun story that made me laugh out loud quite a few times!

After hearing great things about this book and obsessing over the cover, I decided to bump it up on my TBR list. SO glad I did! Wow, I loved this one way more than I expected. While I was expecting a cutesy romance, I was pleasantly surprised by the depth this story contained. It had a great balance of real life struggles and flirty fun! It reminds me a bit of The Friend Zone by Abby Jimenez in all the best ways. Not that the content is the same, but that there is so much more depth to the story line than I anticipated. I loved these characters! Both Kailyn and Dax both had such sweet and endearing qualities about them. I loved that they were flawed and worked toward improving themselves. Their relationship is highly entertaining to watch unravel. From the classic enemies to lovers, seeing how it unfolds was so enjoyable. While there are some steamy scenes in this book, I actually felt like it was pretty limited. I didn’t encounter one until about half way through the book. You could easily skip over them if that’s something you don’t enjoy. I flew through this book and would highly recommend this when you’re looking for a book to get caught up in. I look forward to reading more books by Helena Hunting!

Cute rom-com of two people who meet in college and don't like one another but later in life meet through their profession of law. Kailyn is a trust lawyer who becomes the conservator for Emme, Dax' s sister, when they lose their parents in an accident. Of course, nothing runs smoothly as there becomes a custody battle and battles between the siblings as Dax tries to be brother and father. I enjoyed this story. I did see from the beginning the who and why of the custody battle as well as the weapons that would be used. I also saw the folly of Kailyn making partner and the sacrifice she would have to make. I am glad the way the story ended. I would read this author again. This is a fun read.

Kailyn Flowers was a megafan of the teen series It's My Life and its heartthrob star Daxton Hughes, she has a wonderful meet cute with the former actor at college when he knocks her over while playing frisbee. They spend the college years as arch-rivals in law classes, Kailyn still fangirling behind his back, until Dax sabotages Kailyn's degree. Fast forward eight years, Kailyn is a Trust lawyer and Dax is an entertainment lawyer. When Dax's parents are killed in a car crash he is shock to discover that his parents have left him as sole guardian of his 13 year old sister Emme, rather than his aunt Linda. As the lawyer who drew up Dax's sister's trust, Kailyn is approached by Dax to understand the details. Then, when Aunt Linda petitions for custody Kailyn is appointed as Emme's conservator to mediate between Dax and Linda. The old attraction to Dax is still there but which is the real Dax, does he really want to look after Emme and is he just looking for comfort from someone safe? I received an extract of this book from NetGalley which I enjoyed so I went ahead and got the book, unfortunately for me the book did not live up to the first few chapters. I felt the book was heavy on the sex and light on the plot, every time I got interested in the plot off we swerved into pages and pages of kissing and fumbling and sex - after a while I just started flicking past until I got to the plot again. Overall I thought it was just too predictable.

I listened to this on audio book over several days and LOVED it. From the beginning when Kailyn Flowers is walking across campus on the way to class and is crashed into by the formidable Daxton Hughes and she has a total meltdown because it turns out he was her childhood crush as he was a childhood star on her favorite TV show. After all that, she turns up at class and the only seat left ends up next to Dax. They spend the next few years in law school together challenging each other and now years later Dax and his parents are in Kailyn's office needing her help to set up a trust. She is not pleased as she does not have good feelings for Dax but he is thrilled to see her again. A few weeks later his parents are killed in an auto crash and he is devastated but has to step up when he has to take care of his 13-year-old sister. After the funeral he seeks out Kailyn for answers on the trust and for guidance and one thing leads to another and she is appointed conservator for Emma. This brings them all in close quarters and feelings are jumbled and confusing on all fronts. Their aunt is suing for custody and Emma is spiraling in anxiety. Through all this Dax and Kailyn are slowly finding their way. This was a well thought out story and listening to it had me laughing and gasping for them. I definitely recommend this one!

Such a great read with all the feels that you know and love from a romcom. I thoroughly enjoyed the sass, tell-it-like-it-is attitude and wittiness from Kailyn, as well as, the cockiness, funny and swoon-worthy side of Daxton. This book was not what I expected when I think romcom, it was so much more! I laughed, cried, smiled, laughed some more and just never wanted to put the book down. There was so much heart and love in this story that you can't help but smile. "Sometimes the darkest tragedies bring us the brightest lights. " If you are looking for a lighthearted read that will give you all the feels then this is the read for you!

Meet Cute by Helena Hunting is the perfect mix of messy entanglements, past history, and milkshakes. While the primary story is between Dax and Kailyn, one cannot underestimate the importance of Dax’s little sister Emme. There is a lot of grief in this book, so it is at times not an easy read. However, the gradual relationship, built over time and milkshakes prove that there is life after and at some point it is possible to move on. I loved this book and hope that we might get to see more of these characters. Felix totally needs his own HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

MEET CUTE wasn't just a fun book, it was romantic, sweet and heartwarming, with wonderful characters and a deep and strong message to the readers, it was a tale about second chances, about lost and grief, and about rebuilding your life -with the ups and downs, and everything in between. The rhythm, the structure... everything about this book made it one I couldn't put down. Helena Hunting delivers another wonderful book, and it goes straight to my list of favorites, from the fun and quirky cover to the addictive story inside.

This was my first Helena Hunting title, and it certainly won't be my last! I was expecting a feel-good romcom type of story, and I was actually quite surprised and pleased at the emotional depth presented with the storyline revolving around Dax and his younger sister - it felt very real and, while I've never been in that situation before, completely relatable. Kailyn was a bit harder to warm up to, coming off a bit too intense at times ... but my thinking this made me think a bit further: how often do women get accused of being too MUCH, too HARSH, too MEAN, too *insert basically anything here*? The answer is, unfortunately, way too often - and in a weird and probably completely unexpected way, I enjoyed that Hunting made me think about my own preconceived notions about things like this. Anywho - back to the story. Good plot, solid characters, totally a fangirl dream come true. The BETRAYAL listed in the synopsis came off a bit flat, and while I didn't guess the full scope of it, the REVEAL at the end was something I was expecting. I think the thing that really stands out is that even with those gripes, it was and still is a book that I would heartily recommend! (Steam factor was probably 2.5/5 fireball things, which was also something that worked totally fine for me!)

I love reading Helena Hunting's books and this one was so worth waiting for. It's a really good read that is different than most of her books. Kailyn Flowers is a huge fan of "It's My Life" when she was younger and the leading star Dax or Daxton Hughes. Later (law school) she meets him and the situation situation she thought at first they were friends but of course things are not always as it seems. Let's just say they butt heads face off in school. Once school is over they go their own way. Years pass and they see each other again .... life just seems to bring them back together. This book is very different than Mrs Hunting's books but one that is good ...very good.

I enjoyed this book. It was well written, the characters are ones that were greatly developed, it was a little slower than I expected, that turned out to be a good thing. I don't think it would have been as good if it were written differently. It didn't keep my attention as well as I hoped, until the last couple chapters where the drama and real twists started to happen. I did end up sobbing! True ugly crying toward the end, Helena sure did wright to my emotions during a few of those scenes!! Over all it was a cute book, I will recommending it to all of my friends.
