What a good book! It really helped my seven year old get a grasp on the Solar System. And now in typical seven year old fashion he is obsessed with learning more about the subject. It has a good flow but is both easy enough for kids to understand and still has quite a bit of detail in it as well. I found the artwork and illustrations really compelling as well.

Ever since watching on of her kids shows that featured information about space, my 5 year old has been obsessed with stars and planets. The pictures in this book were fantastic. She loved looking at them (the sun one scared her a little until I explained that the earth wasn’t actually that close) and the rhyming rhythm of the book kept her attention. The content was a little over her head at times but seeing as how it’s written for 4-8 year olds, I can see it easily fitting with an older child while not being too advanced for her. We got this book just in time for the red moon eclipse and we may be making a solar system mobile in the very near future!

There are two small children in my household, and I think that at least one of them will really enjoy this book. It's probably, if I were to guess, for a child around 1st-3rd grade. It is not 'back to basics' simple, but the material is not too challenging either. A great feature of this book is the photos. They provide something cool and interesting to look at, and also serve to break up the text a bit. Overall, I'd say it's a pretty good book for a brush-up solar science session, or as a nifty school side project.

This book is a fun way for young readers to learn about the planets in our solar system. The illustrations and catchy rhymes are a creative way to remember specific features about each planet. My 4-year-old nephew loved reading this ebook with me. The pictures made him want to read the book over and over again. It was a good review for me as well because a few things have changed since I learned about the solar system in elementary school.

The illustrations are horrible. The book is poorly written. Who would use words like atmosphere and dense for a four year old with no definition? The illustration on the cover is in no way representative of the book. It looks like they stole pictures from a 6th grade science book. Horrible! Horrible! Horrible!
