About the Author

Mary Flannery was born in Limerick, Ireland. She trained as a nurse and worked in Bangladesh in the 1980's. After her marriage in 1995, she moved to the USA.
As Máire Flannery, she is the author of ‘What Stirs in Winter’ a Pacific Northwest historical novel, set in 1846, in which Irish girl Katie sets off on a grand adventure for Oregon.
She's also a devotée of Jane Austen and writes Austenesque, including a Time Travel novella 'My Head upon the Ten-Pound Note’, which has garnered excellent reviews.
