Seraphin Shedd is a delightful girl, with courage and this does not turn out to be another routine love story. Seraphin is alone, and graduating high school, but not as alone as she thinks, and not as right as she thinks about a lot of assumptions about her life. She hates being lied to, but she has been, a lot. She is nervous about her new adulthood, but eager to begin, and once you have this book, you too will be eager to begin.

This book surprised me, although there were a lot of hints of what would happen, the power struggle for the main female character was great. Makes you think about how I would process the information. I was excited to find out there was a book #2!

The story contains romance, mystery, danger and heroism. Although the book was aimed at the mid-teen segment of the Young Adult market, it is easily readable and enjoyable by older teens as well as adults. In short, it is fun and exciting.
