Overview

"It doesn't matter what your sexual preference is. Everyone can relate to the struggle of finding ones identity. A straight friend of mine said that the only reason she got married and had children is because that was the path everyone in her family took. One day, while holding her crying baby she began to cry as well. She wondered why and how she got herself into a situation that didn't define who she is." Come with me as I discover my sexual identity and how my faith in God has strengthened. This is a compelling, powerful, and inspiring book birthed by me from God. It will touch many who open themselves up to a new and fresh point of view.Namaste

About the Author

Hello readers, my name is Garland Guidry. I have always been very articulate and a very good story teller. However, I've never considered myself a writer until now. I was born in Slidell, Louisiana and I am the fourth child out of five siblings.
My father was a Baptist minister but he, nor my mother ever had a holier than thou attitude. I am very grateful for that because they allowed me to be myself.
After finishing High School, about two years later I went to Cosmetology School and completed my certification in 1996. It has been my eighteen year journey in the beauty business and telling my customers about my life experiences and lessons that inspired me to write my first book called, Memoirs of a GayShe. I wanted to convey to the world that our sexual preference or sexual identity is a small part of who we are.
Even calling myself a writer is limiting because I am capable of so many things. However, we live in a society where labels are necessary, but it doesn't have to limit or define us. I have never done anything in the expected manner and I don't care to either. Even for the category I chose to put my book under 'Non-Classifiable'. I can't be defined and neither can my book. But I can guarantee that if you have an open mind- when you discover this book and dare to read it, you will learn something that will change your life.
