Memoirs of A Geriatric Ski Bum based on 0 ratings. 1 reviews.
I'm not sure what Hirsch was trying to accomplish here, other than perhaps providing a ski travel brochure for the fabulously wealthy set. He does tell a few cute anecdotes and lets us know that he enjoys the company of pretty girls. But the majority of the book is spent describing the luxurious layouts of the fanciest resort skiing in the U.S., Europe and South America. Without a map I couldn't picture the geography of his detailed descriptions, and the French, Italian, German, and Latin American names became too confusing to keep track of. I'm glad he and his family have been able to live a wonerful life of travel and leisure. He just wasn't able to make any kind of story out of it. In summary, this book is best left to the reading pleasure of Mr. Hirsch's family and the beautiful people among his friends. It will put the average ski enthusiast reader to sleep.
