Patti Michaels and her sisters might have been close as young children, but after their parents' divorce ten years ago, when their mother was in the first stages of chemo, the family's relationships splintered, perhaps forever. Sharon, with her forgiving heart, and youngest sister, Helen, a self-involved, fledgling actress, live on their dad's Friesian horse ranch in northern California. Patti, a talented photographer, and her sister, Kathy, an insecure, aspiring video game developer, want no part of their father. After a tension-filled reunion, it becomes clear there's much the girls don't know about their parents' divorce and their scheming baby sister. And what's driving Patti in her plans to seek revenge against a long-ago boyfriend?

Can the sisters find it in their hearts to forgive and mend the broken fences that separate them, or will old transgressions keep them forever apart?

About the Author

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Patricia attended St. Mary's College, studied her junior year at the University of Madrid, received a B.A. in Spanish at UC Santa Barbara, then went on to earn a Master's degree in Education at Oregon State University. She lives with her husband and two teenage children in Alameda, across the bay from San Francisco, along with two very large chocolate labs, Annabella and Jack. No stranger to heartache, Patricia draws on her experiences to write deeply emotional stories about women who triumph over life's greatest challenges--the loss of a child, an unfaithful husband, adoption, death of a spouse, child kidnapping, and spousal abuse.
When riding her magnificent Friesian horse, Maximus, Patricia plots her novels and resolves plot problems while enjoying the million dollar view of the Oakland hills where he is stabled. Her greatest desire is to see the running of the ponies near Chincoteague Island in Accomack County, Virginia, which has been going on since 1925.
