This is a well written children book. It is a cute story, written in simple words a first grader should be able to read. Tessy is getting in all kinds of trouble while her aunt who is babysitting her is taking a nap. I enjoyed the rhyming sentences and the nice colorful illustrations. My granddaughter loved this book and all the mischief Tessy got into, she is in first grade and had no trouble reading it. This is a great book for all little girls.

How can one little girl get into so much? Aunt Fran comes to babysit while mom goes to the gym. Soon Aunt Fran falls asleep and Messy Tessy gets into food and makeup and makes a mess. By the time Aunt Fran wakes up there are messes everywhere. Together they clean up and when mom comes home she is surprised that everything stayed so clean while she was gone. I've done my share of babysitting and although I've never fell asleep, I have seen lots of messes. This is a good book for any child, not just messy ones. It's funny and the illustrations are colorful and quite good.

Messy Tessy is a cute story about a little girl whose babysitter (Aunt Fran) falls asleep while watching her. Tessy gets into a lot of things while Aunt Fran is sleeping - from playing salon with her dolls, to practicing her words on the wall, and even playing dress up with her mom's makeup! But it is so much more than a cute rhyming story. It is written by Leah Orr and her 3 daughters - the youngest has Cystic Fibrosis- and illustrated by their grandma Josephine Lepore. Profits of this book, as well as her 2 prior books, Kyle's First Crush and Kyle's First Playdate, go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Between these profits and participation in local CF walks over the past 7 years, Orr has raised more than $400,000 for CF research. CF is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of nearly 70,000 children and adults worldwide and Orr's personal goal is to not only raise awareness of the disease, but also raise $1,000,000. Cystic Fibrosis has a personal place in my life, as I had two cousins who were born with this disease. But this book isn't just for little girls, after the first time I read it to my son - he immediately wanted me to read it to him again. He got a big kick out of "surprise" that didn't get put away at the end!

Tessy is an adventurous little girl who loves to get into trouble when she can. I know, how is Tessy any different from all other young children, or even older children? The answer is that she is no different. When Tessy's mother goes to the gym, she asks Aunt Fran to baby sit Tessy. However, when Aunt Fran falls asleep, Tessy has a free path to creative destructiveness! She merely does many of the things a young child loves to do not realizing what damage or mess it could create for others. Tessy does a terrific job as she does art work on walls, uses other colorful things to get her own body colored the way she wants it to be, and even does some sabotage on her dolls and Aunt Fran. When Aunt Fran awakes she sees some of the mess and she enlists Tessy to help her get things cleaned the way things should look. You know not everything can be undone in a short time before Tessy's mother comes in the door. The great thing about this book is that certain proceeds from the sale of each copy of the book go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The author's youngest daughter was born with Cystic Fibrosis encouraging her more to produce a quality product that would assist in the research of this dreaded disease.

Messy Tessy is a cute child's book that tells the adventures of a little girl who has a imagination. While her Aunt is sleeping you get to read about all the trouble she gets into while nobody is paying attention. Tessy is fun, imaginative child and well she is just messy. I think it is a fun book for a small child to read. Profits from the sale of this book will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Buy a book and help them find a cure for this disease.

Tessy is your typical child who likes to keep her toys handy. Mom wants her room to stay clean. When mom goes away and Aunt Fran comes to stay, things quickly get out of hand. With Aunt Fran's help the mess is cleaned up. Well most of it. This was a cute book. I remember my sister pulling so many of these antics and me playing mommy and cleaning up so our mother would not know about it. This was a really cute book. I look forward to sharing it with many little ones. I really like the idea that Lea Orr donated the proceeds of her first two books to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, to help find a cure. This is something very close to her as her daughter was diagnosed with CF. I look forward to future books. These make great read alouds for my grandchildren.

A cute story but the rhyme does not always have a nice flow. Also a little turned off that the author misspelled words (sox instead of socks) for whatever reason. Children's books should be fun and educational and though this one is fun it missed on the education part.
