About the Author

Stan R. Mitchell writes action-packed thrillers, which readers have compared to the works of Vince Flynn, Stephen Hunter, and Tom Clancy.

Mitchell earned a journalism degree from the University of Tennessee and spent 10+ years doing relentless, deadline-required writing in the newspaper business.

Prior to college and his days in the newspaper world learning how government works, Mitchell was a former USMC Sergeant, who earned a Combat Action Ribbon in '97 while serving in the infantry with Alpha Co., 1st Battalion, 8th Marines. (Operation Silver Wake.)

Besides this mission into harm's way, his platoon also served as the Covering Force for the elite Marine Force Recon Unit that deployed with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Special Operations Capable (MEUSOC). In addition to working with Marine Force Recon perfecting Direct Action missions, his platoon had the privilege to operate with the Navy Seals, training at the art of fast roping and ship takedowns.

Mitchell lives in Oak Ridge, Tenn., with his wife Danah, and in his free time, he enjoys writing action thrillers, practicing martial arts, and studying Eastern philosophy.

WARNING: If you’re on blood pressure medicine this book is not for you without consulting your doctor first. Most books in a series get markedly better as they go, especially for new authors. In this case that is not only true but an understatement of massive proportions. This book isn’t a step or a leap forward it’s a quantum jump forward. There’s action with a capital A and thrills with a capital T. The author takes on the drug cartels with a vengeance. You have guns of all makes and models, RPGs, Explosions, Swat teams, Navy Seals, Mexican neck ties, mortar attacks, hand to hand combat, and oh ya a sword wielding maniac that makes the old Ginsu chefs look like amateurs. If you’re new to the series then feel free to get the book. It stands on its own but to really get the full experience get the first one AND this one and read them back to back. This is another great example of Indie authors who can stand proudly toe to toe with any traditional published author out there. A mandatory addition to your adrenaline, heart pounding book collection.
