About the Author

Born and reared in Mississippi, Lori Harrington loves the South and all the charms its borders provide. As a teenager, Lori was interested in writing, but like many southern girls, she was swept away by a southern gentleman. Lori married and had children, al-lowing her dream of writing to become stagnant. 31 years later, Lori and her husband have three children and two grandchildren. Blissfully happy, Lori has experienced en-during love her entire life, and yet, pushed aside dreams don’t die. For Lori, writing is a constant friend. She didn’t choose to be a writer—writing is a part of who she is, who she has been, and who she has become. Lori loves to create, and her passion immersed her in music, theater, and writing. She also has a burning desire to help women overcome obstacles, a characteristic she attributes to her southern roots. Lori cherishes time with her family, and she is blessed to have support for her dreams and aspirations. Though a first time author, Lori believes that dreams can be achieved through hard work, persistence, and faith.

Michael’s Heart was a great 5 star read. Colbie has a love of music, so much so that it affects her deeply and is a passion of hers. She is one of three that has qualified to win a contest that will give her money to fund a charity that she has created. After a bad accident Colbie ends up in surgery, while out she meets “the one” but he’s on the other side. She realizes that Michael is her soul mate and commits her heart to him. It’s not what you look at, Love. It’s what you see. As the story moves forward, Colbie gets a dream job of writing jingles for a TV company. She also meets Will and his daughter. These two end up becoming a big part of Colbie’s life and she starts to grow close to Will. But her heart belongs to Michael. There is so much more to this great read. I was shocked to learn just who Michael was and there were several other twists and turns I didn’t see coming. I really liked all of the characters, they added a great element to the story. This story really makes you think about the other side and if we have someone watching over us. This was an emotional read, once I started I couldn’t put it down until I was done. This is my second read from Lori and I look forward to reading more. 1-click and get started today.

Michael's Heart is a beautiful story that is so original and different than what I usually get lost in. It was a heartwarming story. It was a tale of anything is possible if you just open your heart and mind. There was so much that appealed to me about Colbie. She had her ups and downs. She had a gift and was finally able to to something with it. But then she gets a taste of heaven, and it is at this stage that for me, the author really turns up the quality content and delivers a unique twist to an unusual love story. Colbie has trouble living in the present without Michael. Their story just kept evolving in such a profound way, it was tantalising. It takes a particularly talented author to be able to capture the very soul of each character so completely. Loro Thomas Harrington is a master at creating the seemingly impossible, without it becoming unrealistic. I thoroughly devoured their story and the experience was joyous and fulfilling. I recommend this book to anyone willing to take a chance on being totally enamoured by this colorful cast of eclectic characters. 4 stars.

Michael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington 5 Stars Oh My!! Where to start...I went in to this story completely blind and had no idea what I was in for and what I was about to read. Again all I can say is Oh My!! This is my 2nd read by this author and I really enjoyed the first book I read but this one was so different and if there is a named feeling or emotion I'm pretty sure I felt it somewhere in reading this story...Had my mind all messed up and has me still thinking about it a day later. That in my opinion is how books find their way into one of my favorite folders. I'm not going to go into much more about the book itself..I went in totally blind and read the author’s synopsis after I finished, just know that once you pick this up and begin on page 1 you will not want to put it down, and Colbie **sigh** she is now and will forever be one of my favorite female leads, I absolutely can not wait to read this book again, and I'm pretty sure I'll say the same thing no matter how many times I reread. This was an amazing book, and I highly recommend it and actually already have to a few that I know would completely appreciate the beautiful writing style and talent this author has. Many thank yous to this author for touching my heart in 242 pages. Loved It!!

Michael's Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington was an epic emotional rollercoaster has had me hooked from the first gut-wrenching chapter. This book is just as sweet and cute as it is, rip your heart out and stamp on it. Tears, there were tears people. It's not very often that a book will bring me to tears. But hell, this one really got me. It was one of those timeless love stories that, just takes ahold of your heart. But it's more then that, it's about self discovery, embracing life and just loving with all you have, whether it's your friends, family or that one special someone that completes your soul. This book deserves a move or TV adaptation, it has all the makings of a story that will go down as one of the best love stories in the this decade. Everything about this book is, for me, perfection. The writing was smooth, and had a somber yet light hearted tone that matched the beautiful plot. I wish I could spills everything that has gather in my heart when I finished this book. There are no words to get them out. It's a weird feeling, I can't explain it, but as much as my heart is warmed I still want to cry. Please, please take my super high recommendation that you need to read this one-of-a-kind, marvel of a story that will take a part of your soul and change the shape of your heart. Happy Reading -E.A. Walsh

There are no words. Michael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington was everything. I haven’t had a story/book touch me all the way to my soul in what seems like forever. I will keep this book in my arsenal of must reads. This book came at the right moment in my life and made me stop and think about love and life and one without the other. Colbie Ann Gellar died today. Don’t be sad for her, she meet’s Michael someone that has always been in her heart and realizes that music is her life. It will forever be a part of her like the air that brings her back to life. This book took you through a journey of Colbie’s life and used music as the vessel on this journey. This book is so touching with a touch of romance. Colbie and Michael made me shed a few thousand tears, so I would recommend a tissue or two. I couldn’t put this book down once I started it. These characters reach out and grab you and pull you into the story just like you are living it along with them. When I finished this book, I had to take a deep breath. If you read one book this year make it this book. It has my heart.

Michael's Heart by Lori Harrington Four stars I’m not sure how I feel about this story. Colbie has always had a love for music. She had a wonderful gift and her dreams were great. Life seems to always throw loops and curves your way when you feel your on track. That happens to Colbie but I get the feeling that she didn’t mind after she held her beautiful baby for the first time. There has always been something missing from Colbie's life. She use to think that she would know her one true love on the spot but she never found him. Then something awful happens and Colbie is in a place that does but doesn’t exist. Where she meets Michael and finds out some crazy info. I enjoyed the book because its not something I would normally pick for myself. The characters were well connected and the plot was unique and gave you more to think about. Like where we go when we sleep and what happens to people that die.

Michael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington is a contemporary inspirational romance that I assume has sprung from her personal heartache and experiences (I say it after reading her Acknowledgments). I had read her debut story The Point so I knew that she is a great storyteller and so it was! Michael’s Heart is the story of Colbie Ann Geller who dies on the operating table after accident … and then, a miracle happens… while her body is laying on the operating table, she comes face to face with Michael and suddenly she knows why she has always heard the music, felt the music, breathed the music … I cried … a lot … I cried for Colbie and Michael and Michael’s mother and … so many tears … at the same time there was also hope as love cannot exist in despair, love always gives us hope and opens up our worlds and when it is the best kind of love then it also helps us to become the better and truer version of ourselves … There are many other amazing characters in this story, characters that we can so easily connect with and who remain with us long after we have finished reading the story. Lori is an amazing storyteller and she has graced us with a journey that stays with us and makes each and every one of us wonder what we would do if we had to choose between life and love …

Michael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington a moving five-star read. This book was so much more developed than I realised and it’s so beautifully written and inspirational that being said I had such a hard time rating this book, it’s such a captivating story for the most part but there was just one or two small parts that just simply dragged a little and made me question the story. Colbie as a character was amazing, she had a depth to her that made you want to know more about her. This story is so much more than what it seems, I thought it would be a simple love story. But do you know what It’s so much more, the passion, the music and the drama in this story take you on a journey that will leave you shaken, but with a story that will never leave you. One warning that this story should come with is that you will need tissues, but if you are like me then you will feel they were right for the story and it’s just that good.

A few confessions: 1. Any book that comes with an original soundtrack has my heart (I have no talent in that area) 2. I developed a crush on the protagonist in paragraph 2 "...I'm moody; however, I chose years ago to redeem that term in a more positive light." 3. There are situations that happen in this book that are told in such a loving and non-judgmental way... (This surprised me because the story telling leans more towards a more conservative view) 4. Unconditional friends My favorite quotes: "Music is a piece of art that enters through one's ears and travels straight to the heart." "It's not what you look at that matters... It's what you see." This is a lovely story with deep meaning while remaining somewhat light hearted. If you enjoy that specific genre of movie that make you smile and cry and all the feels, this is the book for you. This is a story that I cannot begin to describe except to say that PASS does exist and if you suffer from it, there is help. If you identify at all with Katherine's mental state, please make a phone call. You are NOT alone.

Michaels Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington is a heartwarming story of love that will get your emotions going. After Colbie’s hearts stops and the inexplicable happens Colbie is left in a cold world trying to find a connection once again to the music. Struggling to find the hold it once had she just figure out how to adjust to what could have been and what is. This is the first book by this author that I have read and it is simply wow. I have refrained from saying too much about the book as you really want to just jump in and let the emotions do the talking for themselves. Everything about this book worked - from the characters to the story to be connection the author creates with you as the audience. I was taken on such a journey and I can honestly say I did not want to put this book down. This is a well crafted book that I would highly recommend.

Michael's Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington is an inspiration romance story that will warm your heart and pull at your heart strings at the same time. I enjoyed this sweet story by this author. I enjoyed how her writing skills are such that she is able to pull me in to her story right from the beginning. She made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. Her characters are both lovable and true to life. They took me on an emotional roller coaster ride including feeling compassion for the characters. This is a story will show you that there is hope for all those looking for love. Colbie is a woman who has always thought that music would bring her to her destiny until her heart stopped beating on the table. She finds herself in a new world and face to face with Michael. What will happen when she is given the choice of life or love? She suddenly wakes up in a recovery room left to figure out how to put her life back together. She is left struggling trying to find the music again. This story really truly is about learning to trust, sharing your life, and self-confidence. These two characters do a great job of taking you on a journey of discovery. I felt compassion for them and they even brought a couple of tears to my eyes. I highly recommend this book. Find out what happens when you are given the choice of life or love.

I loved this book. I felt like the music was woven into the pages. Michael could be so relatable to so many, in so many circumstances. I found myself emotionally invested in this book and didn't even know how I wanted it to end. Great read!!
