I am an SMB consultant/Microsoft Partner who has successfully installed and supported SBS installations for a number of years. I recently ordered a copy of this book (Fourth Printing) in preparation for formal Microsoft Small Business Specialist certification. I found that major annoyances outweighed the book's benefits. Typos, omissions and misspellings (spell check, anyone?) were most distracting. The sample questions and answers were helpful, but often misplaced - I lost count of how many questions were posed one or two chapters *before* the subject matter was even discussed by the authors. Endless self-promotion of the authors' other reference works throughout the chapters under the guise of 'further reading' quickly grew tiresome, and should have been limited to the foreward/intro sections of the book. Finally, more references to *free* outside resources to further explain concepts within each chapter - as opposed to the previously mentioned annoyance - would have been more helpful than a simple appendix of SBS resources. Though I recognize that similar exam prep guides are somewhat lacking at this time, I still feel that more attention to detail - and a little less self-promotion - would have made this a much better offering.
¿A tip of the cap goes to authors Harry Brelsford & Beatrice Mulzer, nice job!! Reads like a novel for techs :-). The Q&A at the end of each chapter and getting an insight on Microsoft¿s viewpoint is invaluable. If you are serious about passing the Microsoft 70-282 exam then this book is a must have.¿
