Midnight Hunt (Bonded By Blood Vampire Chronicles, #3) by Arial burnz

Kostbar, Germany--1636

Driven by the desire to meet the true love she's experienced in her dreams, Monika Konrads uses her magickal skills to weave a love spell during the waxing of the moon. As if in response, a strangely familiar and handsome Scotsman is seeking to settle in their village. But the werewolf stalking Monika has other ideas about who her love interest should be.

Broderick MacDougal is drawn to the powerful witch by a familiar force, and makes the chestnut-haired wise woman his next pursuit to unravel the mystery of why she reminds him so much of his late wife, Davina. However, there are other supernatural forces surrounding her, exposing Rick to a darker side of this deal he made for immortality...and this enchanting nymph may be his only salvation.

Monika's quest to find a cure for the werewolf curse causes a chain of events that starts a witch hunt, dooming both her and Broderick to the fiery stake of judgment. And through these trials, they learn the Church has a new ally who is hunting down the members of the Army of Light.

Reader Advisory: This story contains some explicit love scenes, described using graphic and direct language.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.(Lovers of Paranormal) Broderick MacDougal still grieves for his dead wife Davina, until one day, 80 years after her death, the phrophetess tells Broderick about Monika, his wife reborn. Monika isn't your usual girl. She is a powerful fire witch! Since her father was infected by the werewolves' curse, their only hope is the cure her mother had worked on before her death. Alright, this book was nice. I loved how Davina is finally someone with power, too. I mean this time Monika practically saved the day on her own :). I also love witches and liked how there were some traditional werewolves.(When your bitten by a werewolve, you are cursed and so on) However I'm quite unhappy with the series as a whole. I love every book as a standalone, but I don't see how they are connected yet. In my opinion the pace is way too fast. I liked Cailin and first thing I got to know in this was: Davina and Cailin are dead. Nice. How is someone supposed to connect with characters, if they are gone in the next book? Actually it was still pretty funny for me to read this book though. I'm german and there are a lot of german words and references in this story, it's kind of weird for me to see those in an english/american story lol. It was still nice though, as I kind of had to laugh, when some sister/nun is named Opfer(engl. sacrifice) and dies right away, so can you guess why she only got to live a short time? And Kostbar definitely seems like a value place to Monika :). So I'm still not too sure what to give this book. I loved it, so if it was a standalone, it would definitely receive 5 stars. But as I'm not so happy with the series, I'd drop it down to 3. (It's that "Oh, really? That again?!" feeling I had while reading) So I settled for 4 stars :)

Title: Midnight Hunt Author: Arial Burnz Genre: Paranormal Romance Format: Ebook Pages: 415 Rating: 5 Heat: 4 Main Characters: Broderick, Monika Thoughts: I really enjoyed this story. I was a little bummed that Davina had died of old age and disease but I loved how Monika was similar but different. I love how detailed these stories are, it really makes the characters real along with what is going on around them. What’s great is that each story can really stand on its own but since the main character is Broderick, each installment brings more understanding of who he is as a person/vamsyrian. I look forward to reading the next book. I received a free copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

We have moved forward 80 years with book 3, and Broderick is still mourning the loss of his Davina to consumption. He suddenly feels the urge to leave Scotland, and ends up in Germany where, after a few stops, he starts to dream again. This shocks him as the only time he has dreamed was when he was with Davina. The prophetess turns up and tells him snippets which are enough to entice him in Monika's direction. Monika is the reincarnation of Davina, but without the abuse that Davina went through. She is a Fire Witch, her grandmother is an Air Witch, and her father has been turned into a werewolf! Not only that but Angus is around and causing trouble again. Exceedingly well-written, with Monika/Davina being a completely new, sassy character, whilst still retaining the charms of Davina. It's no wonder Broderick couldn't resist. This is a wonderful continuation of the series and I can't wait to see where else we shall go. Definitely recommended. * I received this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review. * Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!
