Overview

Midnight Runner (Sean Dillon Series #10) by Jack Higgins

Edge of Danger was "hugely entertaining," said the Los Angeles Times. "The publisher describes it as a powerful thriller, and it's no lie." At its end, the murderous Arab/English Rashid family lay decimated- but not extinct. And that may have been Sean Dillon's fatal error.

After her brothers are killed one by one, Kate Rashid swears vengeance on all who have harmed her family. Never mind that they tried to assassinate the President of the United States or that villainy ran in their veins. They were her brothers, and her enemies would pay. British agent Sean Dillon . . . White House operative Blake Johnson . . . and the President himself. . . . Their time was coming, and only she knew how-or when.

Masterfully suspenseful, Midnight Runner is further proof that, in the words of the Associated Press, "when it comes to thriller writers, one name stands well above the crowd-Jack Higgins."

Author Biography: Jack Higgins is the author of many bestsellers, including, most recently, Edge of Danger, Day of Reckoning, The White House Connection, and The President's Daughter. He lives on Jersey in the Channel Islands.\

Whew! For a second there I thought Higgns was losing touch and then he wrote 'Edge of Danger' and this is his sequel. Its one of the better Dillon books. All I can say is dont quit ould son!

Kate Rashid is going to get her revenge, and the target is the U.S. President, and, of course, our lovable, but cold blooded hero, Sean Dillon. Simply the best. Midnight Runner sets out at a nice pace, established by the bungling 'hired help', until an unexpected and gut-wrenching event occurs, and raises the bar and intensity to an extreme and frantic level. From here on one can hardly tear away from the book. The action, emotions, and head games between the players leaves one almost breathless. Higgins races to its conclusion, truely giving us an enjoyable, entertaining, and quick read that is amoung his best. A signature Dillon hit. Until our next encounter Sean, I'll keep the Bushmills within reach.
