Only complaint is that they failed to proofread before releasing. Too many missing words.

I love this series! And this novella only adds to the greatness that is the Midnight Breed series?

The novella focuses on the Hunter, Scythe, and a widow named Chiara. It is set in Italy, on a vineyard no less, and these two come together to deal with a stalker who broke into her home and attacked her. Scythe is called into deal with the threat and he really doesn’t want to do it. He is attracted to Chiara and her son Pietro, but he lost a woman and son he cared about many years ago and he refuses to get involved in another pair in danger. He grudgingly agrees and they go back to her home to wait and catch the stalker because they know he will come again. Scythe tries to avoid Chiara and Chiara is frustrated with his cold demeanor, but she can’t help being drawn to him as well. Their story was enjoyable. It is a novella but their relationship was started in another book so the quickness of the relationship was believable and not quick at all. The plot was entertaining and the conflict was strong. I liked the characters and the struggles they faced in order to have a happily ever after. I enjoyed it.

Midnight Unbound by Lara Adrian Having read all of the books in the Midnight Breed series, I can state that this newest novella lives up to her previous standards. Ms. Adrian is not an author to rest on her laurels, relying on plots that may have been successful or characters' traits that may have worked in the past. She is always innovative, and never more so than with Midnight Unbound. In this latest installment, we re-visit old friends and Hunters, Savage and Scythe, who we first encountered in Midnight Untamed. It is Scythe who is tasked with protecting Breedmate Chiara Genova and her son Pietro from a villain bent on revenge. Scythe is more than just your typical Gen One Hunter. While he has a Hunter's angst and sense of unworthiness, he also has a well of pain that goes soul deep stemming from more than just his missing hand. In addition, he posses the stubbornness of his kind, like all Hunters he seems determined to deny himself the happiness so close within his grasp. Fortunately, he has met his match (and mate) in Chiara: she refuses to allow Scythe to turn his back on their bond, forcing him to give in to their passion. She is the light to his darkness, the beauty his soul has been seeking. This book succeeds on so many levels: it is a romance, a paranormal, even an erotic novella. The love scenes are beyond steamy, with off-the-chart descriptions of their before and intimate encounters. Ms. Adrian is also the queen of intimate dialogue, making her characters' conversations more than just a recitation of body parts and/or slots A, B, C. All in all this is one of the better novels I have read in quite some time. It hits on all fronts, being character-driven with an emphasis on the emotional development between the protagonists. At the same time it also has a strong plot that keeps the book flowing from page to page, delighting the senses and managing not to confuse any new readers to this series. Readers who might want to view it as a standalone. Needless to say I recommend Midnight Unbound without reservations. I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Great story by Lara Adrian! I love this series! Created and trained in Dragos's lab Scythe was bred to hunt and kill. Until Dragos was killed Scythe's life was filled with daily torment and violence. The one time that he opened his heart up to love he was almost destroyed when it was taken away from him so no matter how much he is attracted to Chiara and his love for her son he has to keep his distance. Chiara Genova is a widow trying to raise her son all alone, but she is now in danger from a male that wants her for his own. When Scythe is called in to protect her Chiara can no longer deny her attraction to him and when her life is on the line she soon realizes that she will do anything to get them both out of this dangerous situation so they can have the family life that she has always wanted. I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

This novella had just the right amount of suspense, action, and sexiness I've come to love about Adrian's work! Although it's #14.6 in the Breed series, it could be read as a standalone.

Lara Adrian does not disappoint with Midnight Unbound, a Midnight Breed novella. We met Scythe and Chiara in Midnight Untamed and I couldn't wait to read their story. Chiara was attacked in her home and The Order has asked Scythe to keep her safe and help track down her attacker. Scythe is determined not to get involved with Chiara, but the more time they spend together, the more he realizes that he's falling for her. Midnight Unbound is another great addition to the Midnight Breed series! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

This Midnight Breed novella is the complete package and exactly what you expect from Lara Adrian. The plot is solid, the characters are well developed and it's beautifully paced. Action, suspense, danger, love and passion are aplenty. Scythe was a character that had interested me since we met him in a previous story. An incredibly tortured soul desperate to find a peaceful existence. He does what he has to when needed and will do anything for his “brother” Hunters, but would rather live in solitude. I’m so thrilled to read the new Hunters Legacy series! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review. That being said I am so loving this series. Scythe is a Hunter who is now free trying to living the world today. Feeling completely unworthy he keeps mostly to himself. After meeting Chiara previously this woman is never far from this thoughts. She is all consuming to him. When he is called upon the protect Chiara and her son from a new threat he is hesitant to help. Little does he know Chiara is exactly what he needs. I loved reading how Scythe found worth in his life through Chiara and her son along with Chiara finding her true mate.

The Order's battle against the rogues continues. Like the previous story in the series, Midnight Unbound is set in Italy. Scythe is one of Dragos' casualties. He lives in seclusion and believes that he is not worthy, unaware of his sensitive side. He is lethal and dangerous but he also loyal and honest. Chiara is a widow with a young son. Having been through a bad time with her previous mate, she dedicates her life to her son and her vineyard. Scythe is called upon by the order to protect Chiara who is in danger for unknown reasons. They have met before and Scythe has been drawn to Chiara ever since that first encounter. He is none too happy about "lady sitting" but his integrity gets the better of him and he is fully committed to the task. It's not easy for him to be alone with Chiara as his attraction towards her is too strong. He is not used to interact with others and he doesn't want any complications in the life that he has built for himself. Besides, he has learnt his lesson about getting too close to anyone. Chiara is drawn to him too and he does his best to keep her at arm lengths. How long can they fight this attraction? This novella is the complete package that one would expect from this author. The plot is solid, the characters are well developed and it's beautifully paced. Action, suspense, danger, love and passion are aplenty. Scythe is fierce in battle as he is in love and passion! Schiara shows a different side of herself and her strength of character shines through. They make a terrific couple. A wonderful story and a great addition to this compulsive series. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

The thing I love the most about this series is it doesn't matter wether you read one of the full length novels or one of these shorter novellas the stories are still just as good! I find once I start them I'm addicted right through to the end. Desperately wanted more too! Scythe was a character that's interested me since we met him in a previous story. An incredibly tortured soul desperate to find a peaceful existence. He does what he has too when needed but would rather live in solitude. Chiara's world is her 3 year old son Pietro, just the two of them after the betrayal and death of her mate. She been surviving since but not really living. She met Scythe a month or two before this story starts and the connection was apparent even then. The story's really fast paced, full of action, twists and turns. The chemistry is faultless between the two characters and I loved how combustible the passion felt.
