Overview

He's sexy as sin and hotter than hell andoh wait.

What would you do to save a loved one's life? Make a pact with the Devil?

In Diana Kingston's defense, it was the middle of the night in the deserted hospital chapel… surely it was just a dream. She hadn't really sold herself to a brooding stranger to save her father's life, right? Then she wakes and her father is fully recovered and a mysterious letter arrives from the tall, dark, handsome—um, Devil? Yep, it was right there on the contract, Lucien Star, aka Lucifer Morningstar, that had been his name in the dream… Gulp. What would the Devil himself want with her? Sex. Three months of hot, sweaty, Friday night sex.

Ooookay. Breaking a pact with the Devil doesn't seem like a smart move. So she'll do it—but she won't like it. Not much anyway. But she starts liking it – a lot—and every night they spend together, she likes it and Lucien a little more. Being with him allows her naughty side to come out and play, but Diana starts to see more than just a sexy-as-sin, rock-hard … er…Anyway, he might be Satan, but even he was an angel once. Kind. Noble. And she sees glimpses of that man still inside him… But how in Heaven's name do you save the Devil from himself?

Midnight with the Devil by Emma Castle is her debut novel, and I have to say it was an awesome start. Diana Kingston, our heroine, is at the hospital, watching her father slowly dying. She prays for a way to save him, and out of the blue, Diana is offered a chance to make a deal to save her father’s life. But the person who is offering the deal is the devil himself, Lucifer Morningstar, and all he wants is her is to give herself to him to do whatever he wants for three months; every Friday night at midnight. All Satan wants is Diana’s pure soul to keep the gates of hell closed & eventually turn her dark. With a contract in hand, despite her misgivings and disbelief, Diana accepts the contract, to save her father. We all know the story of Lucifer and how he became a fallen angel and bad boy in charge of Hell. Lucien Star (Lucifer Morningstar) is the name he uses now, since is tired of living in hell, and lives on earth among humanity, in his penthouse and night club. It did have a short similar ring to the tv show Lucifer. Diana at first is nervous when she arrives at Lucien’s penthouse, and in a short time she cannot resist him. What follows is an unlikely romance with Diana in time falling for the forbidden Lucien, and he feels himself starting to have feelings for her, which has never happened to him before. This was a hot sexy as hell romance that caught me by surprise. I expected this to be a dark romance, but it was anything but that. Lucien was handsome, sexy, demanding, but he treated Diana with what would turn out to be love. I absolutely loved them together, despite knowing somehow it had to come to an end. Midnight with the Devil was a wonderful fun steamy romance, written so very well by Emma Castle. She made us fall in love with both Lucien and Diana, who were truly an unlikely pair, and made this work so well. It was amazing to see how both of them began to change in a short time; those sex scenes were as I said…hotter than HELL. I really enjoyed all the secondary characters, and the ending of this story was so fantastic, it left me feeling very emotional. Bravo to Emma Castle for this sexy, beautiful, wonderful, satisfying and unexpected romance. I suggest to jump on the bandwagon and start reading Emma Castle now.

Fabulous read!!! I loved this first book Emma's castle ! Its a little like the tv show Lucifer as in the devil is a total bad boy and falls for a human woman and Lucien star does run a night club and has become very jaded and only cares about dark pleasures, but that's were the similarities end. Lucien has always felt the loss of being a fallen angel and being sent to deal with evil and regin as the king of hell and knowing that their is no hope of redemption. So he has lived for thousands of years making deals to keep those in hell where they belong. When Diana's father is dying from cancer she will do anything to save her father and so starts the bargain between Lucien and her. Every Friday at midnight for 3months Diana must come to Lucien and submit to him physically. Lucien must corrupt her pure soul so that when she dies her soul will go to hell to help strenghthen the walls. This is a totally erotic read with hot sex and romance and has humor and a wonderful storyline. If you like sexy dark hero's Midnight With The Devil is your read! I promise you that you'll enjoy all his tortures, I know I did!

Diana is in the hospital chapel on the last night of her father's life when the devil offers her a deal. Sell your soul and I will save your father. It's an intriguing storyline. It's got that forbidden fruit aspect that I have to admit is what drew me in. I've never read this author before so I took a gamble to see if this could be something for me. I enjoy a dark read, but not too dark. Having Satan as the Hero, the author could take this to the darkest level she wanted to. I've found that I like Emma Castle's writing and the way she can tell a story. However, I was surprised to find that this book wasn't dark at all. It's actually a very safe read. I did enjoy the way the book turned out and I wasn't expecting that ending. It's actually a very sweet love story. I think that sweetness took the forbidden aspect that drew me in the first place, out of the equation. I wanted this to be just a tad bit darker and for Lucian to have more of a dark intensity to him and how he was with Diana. I think expectation can change how you view a book so if you're expecting dark, this is not it. I would like to come back to this book another time and re-read it. I think going in knowing how sweet it is, I'll enjoy it more the second time around. ARC provided by NetGalley.

A solid idea with a lackluster execution. The story is surprisingly light considering the subject matter - not so light as to be considered a RomCom, but pretty light nonetheless. That, I could've been okay with, but from start to finish, I couldn't escape the similarities to the television show. The storyline and characters are more simplistic than the show, but the sexy playboy persona, the deal maker, a good-hearted human who may be Lucian's downfall or saviour, depending on how you look at it, the nightclub - it's all there. All of that aside, I didn't find these characters particularly likable, and the story just didn't pull me in. It's a fairly quick read, so I did finish it, but it isn't something that I would reach for again or that I would think of to recommend.

I don’t even know where to begin because this book was so good! I expected one thing - the Devil takes an innocent female soul in exchange for the life of a loved one and they fall in love - but it is much more than that. Emma Castle’s take on the devil is different than what I’ve read before and in a good way. Lucien Star, aka the Devil, Satan, Lucifer, fell from grace many years ago due to his pride. Charged with guarding hell, he needs to find a pure soul to keep the gates of Hell closed. Diana is desperate. Her father is dying and she would do anything to keep him alive - including making a bargain with the devil. The two characters are interesting. Lucien is arrogant, somewhat selfish, and a bit of an alpha male. Diana is kind-hearted, compassionate and a strong character learning what it is like to give herself to Lucien. The two are so different that they make an unlikely pair. I really enjoyed watching how their relationship evolved and talk about those steamy scenes! I really enjoyed Midnight with the Devil. The ending was phenomenal and I loved the epilogue. The book was entertaining and moved at a good pace. The characters were well developed with both strengths and flaws. I liked the secondary character of Amara and I think I would have liked to seen more of her in the book. This is my first book by Emma Castle and it will not be my last. I received this book as an ARC and I voluntarily leave this review.

A different type of story that will hold you captive, not knowing what to expect. Diane Kingston was desperate to save her father's life. Somehow her wish came true after she made a pact with the Devil, or rather Lucien, aka Lucifer Morningstar. When she finds her father has been healed, she is then accountable for her bargain and determined to carry it out. But hold on to your seat, this story will take you through the gamut of emotions from sadness, to desire and crying. A wonderful debut novel for this author and hopefully we will see a lot more soon!! Lori Dykes
