The Million Dollar Kick is about Whisper Nelson. In third grade she vowed to never play sports again. She won a contest and got a chance for a million dollar kick. Will she get it? Read the book and find out. This book reminded me of a time when I had a penalty kick and I scored two!
Dan Gutman gives very good details and information about the people and the soccer field in his books. I like Dan Gutman because he makes good books about sports. I think all of my friends would love The Million Dollar Kick.

Wow! Dan Gutman really won the MLS Cup with this outstanding book. I found it a quick read that parents could read to their kids but enjoy it just as much. Maybe even more.

What would you do for a cool million dollars? In the book The Million Dollar Kick Emily doesn¿t have any friends. She enters a contest with 5,000 kids competing in soccer. On her way back home she finds a high school student that will be her tutor. And when that day comes her dreams will come true. I would recommend you to read this book. It was so good that I wanted to skip all the pages until I got to the end. I would strongly recommend this book to kids who love to play soccer. It amazed me in the first few pages.

How would you feel if you got a million bucks just for kicking a soccer ball into a net? Thirteen year old Whisper Nelson, who hates sports and has only played soccer once in her life, knows what it feels like. Her sister, Briana, entered her in a soccer contest to take a shot against world famous goalie, Carmen Applegate. Whisper doesn¿t care because she thinks that it¿s a million to one chance that she¿d be picked, until the phone rings. It¿s the people that were holding the shot against Carmen Applegate to tell her that she won the contest. Whisper doesn¿t believe her ears. She runs to tell her mom who suggests that they could go to the high school soccer practice for help. The next day they went and asked the coach to teach Whisper, but the coach said no. She said come back again tomorrow to ask one of the girls to coach. So the next day, they went and asked, none of the girls said yes. That afternoon a girl from the team showed up at the front of their door and said that she would coach. So Whisper accepted. After a lot of work, Whisper got much better. A month before the big kick she stops and thinks ¿Do I really want to do this?¿ She thinks if I don¿t I will regret it. The day of the big kick she hears that Carmen Applegate was injured. Who¿s the backup? When they get there Whisper steps out onto the field. She sees her coach in the net. They walk up and shake hands. Finally, its time for the shot.Whisper backs up a few steps and one to the side. She runs, she shoots, the goalie caught the ball, but she was past the line so Whisper gets to take another shot. She sets up, runs, she shoots, its good. GGOOOOOAAAALLLL!!!!!!!! ¿Million dollars for Whisper Nelson!¿ shouts the announcer.

The book was my suit because if you play soccer you can learn some of the tricks Elle and/or Jess Kirby taught Whisper.

The book I read was The Million Dollar Kick by Dan Gutman. It¿s about a girl who doesn¿t like sports. She wins a contest that if she scores a goal she will win a million dollars. She gets a trainer and learns how to kick a soccer ball. While she learns how to kick a ball she discovers that she has an interest in art. The day comes when she has to shoot the ball against the greatest goalie in the league. Will she score? Read and find out! I would recommend this book to a friend because it¿s an exciting book to read.
