I had to read this for school and it was great. You can really imagine what is happening. It is very descriptive, but not boring. It also has a good ending. I would definitely recommend this book!

This play is a wonderful adaptation of the book, good for High School readers. It captures the drama and poignancy of the autiobography, and allows the reader to see him/herself as part of the story. Every character in this play deals with a struggle and helps the reader personify struggle and hope. The two main characters, teacher and student, exemplify determination. Each woman is a role model for teenagers in overcoming extreme challenges. The style is easy reading and the dialogue keeps the reader engaged throughout; one can picture the characters and action while relating to the anguish throughout the story. The reader can only rejoice as the characters persevere and change destiny.

I choose this book for summer reading--into 7th grade-- and i was quite surprized, and, for lack of a better term, i was delighted. Its a book i wouldnt hesitate to recommend.

The "William Gibson" attached to this book via the blue link is the Cyberpunk Author and is not the "William Gibson" who wrote the play - the link needs correction. Thank you ! 5 stars for the play 1 star for the error - fact check needed
