The Birmingham Rebels play both sides of the field, proving that the hottest action isn’t always in the arena.

Rookie running back Tom Kelly loves the perks of football stardom. Men, women—there’s no shortage of companionship for a pro athlete who’s hot, young, and willing, and Tom is definitely willing. But deep down he wants a committed three-way relationship, especially if the female in the middle is Carmina de la Cruz. The undeniably sexy Army veteran may not say much, but her body speaks loud and clear.

After a traumatic tour in Afghanistan, Carmina is struggling to regain her speech and rebuild her life. More than anything, she wants to feel like a woman again. Tom may be a wholesome All-American, but he knows just how she needs to be touched—and he’s not the only Rebel who arouses her interest. With his scorching intensity, Tom’s best friend leaves her wondering if two players might be better than one.

Danny Smith is no stranger to his team’s kinky reputation. He gave in to temptation once, but he’s not going down that road again. Sure, Carmina’s curves promise pleasure, but her eyes guarantee it comes with baggage—and Danny has enough of his own. Still, giving up control can feel so good. And when it comes to everything Danny craves, Carmina and Tom make the perfect team.

Don’t miss any of Samantha Kane’s steamy Birmingham Rebels novels:

“The perfect escape from everyday life, giving a few stolen hours of steaminess, while opening the eyes of the reader to new experiences and ways of life. Nothing felt forced or instantaneous (other than lust), the evolution fluid, humorous, and sensual. While this is most certainly erotic material, there is definitely a lot of emotion and character development on the pages. . . . Highly recommend for fans of ménage.”—Wicked Reads

“Avocado,” Carmina said, staring at the picture on the cue card her speech therapist was holding up.

“Very good,” Sydney said with a smile. “Six months ago you couldn’t say that.”

“I don’t like them.” Carmina made a face.

“That’s not all you wanted to say,” Sydney chastised her. “Finish your thought.”

“That’s because I don’t like them,” Carmina said slowly.

“Excellent.” Sydney beamed at her. “Honestly, Carmina, your speech has improved dramatically. I’m so pleased. If I didn’t know you had a TBI, I’d never guess.”

“I used to talk very fast,” Carmina told her sadly. “Spanish and English.” She had trouble just saying “Spanish,” much less speaking it these days. It was weird. When she was really stressed she sometimes lapsed into Spanish without thinking about it. But if she thought about it and tried to speak Spanish, she came up blank. That troubled her, since it was her first language and the one her family preferred. One more thing widening the gulf between them. She looked over at Buster K and he got up from where he’d been lying and came over and licked her hand.

“I know you want to relearn your Spanish,” Sydney said sympathetically. “But you’ll need a different therapist for that. And since English seems to be easier for you at this point, I think it’s our best avenue to achieve full, independent functioning.”

“I function,” Carmina said defensively. “I live by myself.”

Sydney reached out and clasped Carmina’s hand. “I know. But you said you wanted to work, too, right? One day at a time, one goal at a time.”

It was the mantra Carmina had been using for the last two years. “I think I’m ready,” she told Sydney.

“You know what? I think so, too.” Sydney laughed at Carmina’s whoop of happiness and Buster K barked in surprise. “I’m so proud of you, Car. You’ve worked so hard. But,” she said, holding up her hand to stem Carmina’s celebration, “that doesn’t mean we don’t get to see each other regularly anymore. We have to make sure you maintain this level of functionality and continue to progress.” She softened her voice. “You know how unpredictable your condition is.”

Carmina started to nod, but spoke up before Sydney could rebuke her. “I know,” she said. “But I’m good, Sydney.” Carmina thought it was cruel that her therapist had such a hard name to say. It had taken months before she could call her by name.

“You’re better than good. You’re great. Don’t forget that.” She hugged Carmina, who hugged her back. “Now, what else is bothering you?” Sydney straightened the pile of cue cards in front of her. “I could tell you had something on your mind when you got here.” She folded her hands in her lap and gave Carmina her full attention.
Carmina was startled at Sydney’s astuteness, although she knew she shouldn’t be. The two women had gotten to know one another pretty well over the last few months. Sydney was only a few years older than she was, and they’d clicked immediately. Carmina started to deny that anything was wrong, but changed her mind. “Can I ask you something . . . awkward?” she asked.

“Well, this sounds interesting,” Sydney said. “Go ahead.”

“Will sex affect my recovery?” Carmina asked in a whisper, leaning toward Sydney. Sydney moved closer, too, and whispered back.

“No.” Sydney leaned back in her chair with a laugh. “We’re in my office, Carmina. No one is going to overhear us. Have you met someone?” Her eyes gleamed with happy curiosity. “I hope so. Is it Sam?”

“What? No!” Carmina said vehemently. “Sam is my friend. Ew.” She shook her head. “He’s with King and Jane.”

“He sounds like Tarzan the Ape Man,” Sydney teased. “Sorry, I forgot about that, although I don’t know how. It’s still all we hear on the news. It’s just that he’s the only guy I ever see you with. Who is it?”

“No one,” she said. “Just, you know, if someone came along who wanted to, it’s good to know I can.”

“You can,” Sydney said firmly. “Don’t worry.”

Carmina hoped like hell Sydney was right and that she could finally orgasm. She just needed to find a guy to help her get there. She was convinced she needed more than a fantasy lover. She needed a flesh-and-blood man to make it happen. So her new goal was to find one. If she could learn to talk again, she could learn to come again.

“Tonight, we celebrate,” Sam said, lifting Carmina up in a bear hug. She laughed. He set her back down, put both hands on her shoulders, and stared into her eyes. “Are you sure you’re ready? For a job, I mean?” She nodded.

“Yes,” she said firmly. “I’m bored.”

Sam’s girlfriend Jane laughed and gave her a one-armed hug. Jane was a nurse and she’d just gotten home from the hospital. She was still in her scrubs. “That sounds about right,” she said. “I could tell you were getting restless sitting around your apartment and playing Call of Duty.”

The Birmingham Rebels isn’t a series for the faint hearted or the shy and easily offended. No this is a series that is about love and lust in its basest and plainest form - no matter who the other person is. So it’s not about a boy and a girl falling in love and living happily ever after. These books are about girls falling in love with boys and boys falling in love with boys and girls and two boys loving one girl and each other. I have been following this series from the beginning and even though I am not a huge fan of multiple partners and polyamory, I have to admit that Samantha Kane sure knows how to make the best of it and leave you blushing and fantasising in the process ;) and “Misconduct”, in my opinion, is the best book of the series yet. Tom Kelly, the rookie running back for the Birmingham Rebels, has been busy not only on the field, but also off it as he has been experiencing all that his new fame has to offer. Discovering his sexuality has opened up a whole new world of opportunities for him. And yet, he wants something deeper and there are only two people that he can imagine having a deeper and committed relationship with. His best friend and roommate Danny Smith and Carmina de la Cruz, the army veteran who happens to be his teammate Sam’s best friend. But it seems that that option will only live in his fantasies- or can it possibly come true? Carmine de la Cruz, lost more than just her friends in that blast in Afghanistan. She also lost a part of her memories and her speech. She is in therapy and has regained most of her speech back, but there is still something that alludes her- an orgasm. She has her fantasies, but knows that she needs the real thing to make her dreams come true. Danny Smith experienced a kinky side of sex once and though he denies it with his whole being, he knows that he needs that to be truly satisfied. And he also knows that there is one person who can help him unleash his true self. All he has to do now is accept it and have the perfect relationship. I know the premise of this book sounds a little far fetched and very unconventional, but you really feel the struggle that the characters have with themselves and with accepting their true natures. Usually in these kinds of books the writer only likes to show the sexy side of these relationships- the fantasy side and you never get to see the beginning and how hard it is to not only come to terms with this side of oneself, but to also accept and embrace it. Samantha Kane does a great job of not only giving us the fantasy but also marking it believable and human. Great read for all fans of romance who love a little fantasy and wildness in their love scenes!!! Thank you Netgalley and Random House Publishing for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Sex with some good emotion.

I didn't realize this was a series when I started reading it, but it was quickly apparent with the references to all the other couples already established on the Rebels team. This was a solid MFM romance novel, and Kane delivers giving the reader what they want. Highly recommend if your looking for something steamy that also makes the characters question their own motives as they come to terms with themselves and their own sexual identities. In the name of transparency, I feel that I should mention that I received a free ARC from NetGalley of this book. That being said, I do not feel compelled to let this affect my judgement of a book.

I have become a fan of the Birmingham Rebels football team and this book didn’t let me down. Carmina is trying to deal with everything that happened to her in Afghanistan, and Tom and Danny are roommates who both have eyes on Carmina. Well, Tom and eyes for Danny too (even if Danny doesn’t know it). You’ll have to read it to find out if any of them ever get the HEA they should have. I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley for a free and honest review.

Although I am a big Samantha Kane fan (Brothers in Arms is the GREATEST!), I never expected to like the Birmingham Rebels series. I don’t like team sports, and I especially don’t like football, but these books are wonderful. And that says something . . . if I enjoy books that take place in a setting that I have no interest in, they must be good. This one, which is book four, is no exception. Samantha Kane’s books have a continuing storyline, but there are no cliffhangers. It’s just that situations from previous books come up again and the team members and their mates show up as well. This entire series is like a story of an extended family. Obviously, it would be best to read them in order. Anyway, Tom is the All-American-Boy who everybody loves. Carmina is recovering from injuries she received as a soldier in Afghanistan and is very self-conscious about the disability she is striving to overcome. Danny is angry. That is the best way to describe him. He has good reasons, but he has let his anger control everything in his life. And that’s why this is a four star and not a five star book. Tom is great, but Carmina and Danny are still too focussed on the past. Carmina considers herself broken and in need of fixing. Those are her words. She keeps poking herself in the head when she talks about her problems. Danny needs to get over the past. Yes, something terrible happened, but get over it and move on. Of course, most of this works out at the end, and a wonderful thing about Samantha Kane’s books is that everything isn’t tied up in a beautiful bow. Life is not perfect. However, her characters are willing to work to make things as good as they can be. This book was sent to me by NetGalley in return for an honest review.

This Birmingham Rebels series just keeps getting better and better! The plot is intriguing, the writing impressive, and the characters just jump right off the page! I've really come to love these characters. They're so original, authentic, and honest, and they completely draw you into the story and you just can't help but become invested in their lives. After that, rooting for them just becomes second nature. This particular story of Tom, Danny, and Carmina really hit home for me. Three people who need each other more than they know and a true testament to the healing power of true love. This book was impassioned and insightful, seductive and romantic, enchanting and enthralling, and absolutely riveting. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet, sexy, and compelling read. *I received a copy of this book via NetGalley and voluntarily chose to review. All opinions are my own.

This book is #4 in the Birmingham Rebels series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. To avoid spoilers and better understand the series, I recommend reading in order. Carmina is best friends with a popular football player. He has introduced her to many others in the sport. She finds herself attracted to two men. She cannot decide if it is possible to choose just one. Both Tom & Danny are attractive to her physically and emotionally. Tom & Danny are roommates and teammates. They never saw themselves fighting over a girl. When the worst occurs, neither is willing to walk away from their friendship. Can they figure things out as things heat up? This series is a joy to read and a challenge to sometimes understand. Love is love, however, and it is interesting to see what acting on an attraction can show you are capable of. These characters compliment each other so beautifully, that it makes the reader sigh with joy. Fits the series just perfectly also. ***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review, by both Netgalley and its publisher.

4 STARS FOR MISCONDUCT!!! The story was entertaining, hot, sexy and a page turner. The characters are likeable, entertaining and who doesn't like football. Samantha Kane definitely knows how to make a story sizzle. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book from publisher via NetGalley.

I really liked this steamy read. Sam is pro-football player and is also looking for a poly relationship. Carmina is one of Sam’s best friends and the woman he wants. She is going through a lot and recovering from a brain injury in she received while in Afghanistan while in the military. Danny is Sam’s best friend and trying come to terms with the attraction he has for Sam. Carmina, Sam and Danny share an attraction but have a lot of baggage, can they find a way to make it work? Lots of drama and emotion with steamy sex. A good read.

My favorite fantasy read is menage. When you mix in hot football players I'm so ready to read. This story is about Carmina de la Cruz, Linebacker Sam Taylor's (from Jacked Up) best friend from the war. They served together and she has a traumatic brain injury that's she's recovering from. Because she hangs out so much with Sam she's met all the guys on the Rebel's football team. Within his circle of friends is Nebraska farm boy Rookie running back Tom Kelly. He has discovered he is definitely bi and with his easy way is busy exploring his options. Receiver Danny Smith has demons of his own from his past that he is struggling with that we learned about in Broken Play. In that book he found out that he likes a bit of bondage and he's really NOT OK with that. He's definitely not bi. I love watching this team support each other. Every one of the guys are a misfit somehow. This is a last chance team but it becomes their strength. They are there for each other. The guys have embraced Carmina into their group with her trouble communicating with others. They want to help her heal. It was delightful to watch Tom try to figure out what turns Carmina on and see poor Danny struggle with his attraction to both of these people. Samantha is the queen of chemistry and finding a way to the happy ever after. Thank you for the opportunity to review this edition of the Birmingham Rebels.

This book is hot, hot, hot!! If you haven't read the previous books in this series, I recommend that you do as there is back story on some things that the characters talk about in this book. This one is about Tom Kelly, Danny Smith, and Carmelina De La Cruz. Tom and Danny are best friends fron the football team. Carmelina is Sam's best friend, although they consider themselves to be siblings/family. Carmelina is attracted to both Danny and Tom although as we know from previously she has some issues. Tom is attracted to both Carmelina and Danny although he tries to hide it from Danny. And Danny tries to hide his attraction to both! And when they all work through their various issues and quirks? It is hot as hell!! I really loved these characters together. They care so much for other people and to see them reach that point where they are happy together, it is priceless! Great book!

Tom and Danny play for the Birmingham Rebels Football Team and have been best friends since Tom joined the team. Tom would like something more with Danny, but Danny doesn't want that lifestyle ... or does he? Carmina came back from Afghanistan with a traumatic brain injury and has come to Birmingham to heal and be close to Sam (who was in the same explosion in Afghanistan) who is also on the Birmingham Rebels Team. Both Tom and Danny are attracted to Carmina and she is attracted to both of them. Will Danny give in to his feelings towards Tom? Can they make this MMF relationship work? Although this is quite a steamy book and those scenes are very hot ... the storyline kind of fell flat for me. Misconduct is the first book I've read in this series and the first book I've read from this author. I'm a little hesitant when it comes to m/f/m type reads because not ever author writes the story in a way I enjoy. This story had parts I liked and disliked but nothing that completely turned me off of this story. Tom and Danny both wanted Carmina;, there was no doubt about that but when it came to Tom and Danny, I felt as if Tom pushed Danny a little too much. It seemed as if Tom pushed Danny to come out sooner than he was ready even though, Danny wanted both of them. I wished somewhere in the story it was Danny's decision to come out instead of feeling pressured. Overall, I liked the characters and the storyline and I enjoyed quite a few laughs while reading this story. I absolutely loved that Tom wouldn't change anything about himself for anyone. He was confident and when he cared about someone he did things to make they happy in his own twisted way sometimes. I'm glad I gave this book a try because it was really good. I would read more books from this author in the future.

I started this series with book 3 Jacked Up and wanted to read more with Misconduct. Then once I can find free time from Blogging and other tasks, I will definitely retract to book 1 & 2. With that said, you do not need to read all of the books in the Birmingham series. They are all standalone. I was introduced to Carmina in last book. We knew her struggle from Afghanistan. So I was pretty stoked to find out that this is her story with two very hot and yummy football players, Tom & Danny! Of course the story line does not start off easy. These characters have to work for it. They need to over come a lot of traumatic events that they had to go through in their past. Some are in denial for what they feel, and others may just be afraid to live again. When these three finally let go, they become free. Their passion struck me in the heart and I was captivated in this story! Samantha Kane knows how to keep her readers interested and show how love is just love!

Another sexy menage is breaking out in the Birmingham Rebels NFL crowd! There's something about the water at this training facility I think ... because they all seem to want to double it up! :) It's another sexy story from Samantha Kane with an underlying past that the characters are having to overcome and move on from in order to find their happily ever after. Must be okay with menage and M/M! Rookie Tom Kelly got his sexual appetite heated up with a bunch of the Rebels crew a few months back, and now he's living the life. He's ready and willing for just about anything, but he's secretly yearning for a three-way relationship with sexy Carmina de la Cruz ... and his best friend Danny Smith! Carmina is Sam's best friend who was injured in the Army and moved to be closer to him as she gets her life figured out. She's been tempted by Tom for awhile now ... but can she trust herself and her issues to be able to handle him? And what about the attraction she also has to his friend Danny? Danny enjoys his close friendship with Tom, but he's not anything like him in his extracurricular activities. He really is attracted to Carmina though ... and as he watches them together and spends time with him, he can't resist he wants Tom too!

Misconduct: Birmingham Rebels is book four in the Birmingham Rebels series by Samantha Kane. First, I want to say that I’ve loved this series from the start. I have gotten attached to this crazy football team and their sexual escapades. I’m so glad that Danny, Tom, and Carmina got their chance for their own story. We met Danny in the first book. He is Coach Marion’s best friend and is carrying some pretty deep scars on the inside from something that happened to both of them years before they ever came to Birmingham. Now, he is Tom’s roommate and they are also best friends. He knows Tom is interested in more than just friendship but he’s not going there. He let down his guard once and never again. And then there is the way he feels about Carmina. Carmina has her own issues, she doesn’t need someone like him who is dealing with all kinds of baggage. So he keeps his feelings to himself. Carmina de la Cruz has been home from Afghanistan for a long time. She moved to Birmingham to be near her closest friend, Sam who is also a member of the Birmingham Rebels. He was also with her when everything went bad in Afghanistan. She has physically healed from the explosion that they drove over, but her head is still messed up. She has trouble with her words, and she gets overwhelmed easily. But Carmina is ready to live a normal life, get a job, be with a man, or two. She can’t help but to notice Tom and all his country boy charm. But so has every other woman, and man for that matter, since Tom doesn’t turn down an offer from either sex. And then there is Danny. He is completely the opposite of Tom, all serious and brooding. But there is a chemistry there, and she has caught him watching her. Is she really attracted to them both? Ever since Tom finally realized he liked being with both men and women, he has been going crazy. But he knows this isn’t really what he wants. He wants a committed relationship. He has fallen hard for his roommate, Danny. But he keeps it to himself. And he is also strongly attracted to the sexy Carmina. He’s caught Danny looking at her as well. Both Danny and Carmina are dealing with serious issues. Who would have ever thought that Tom was the one who could help them. The Tom I first met in the first book is so different than this Tom. He’s all grown up. He genuinely cares for Carmina and wants to help her. And his feelings for Danny are deep. He somehow just knows how to help these two. It’s like he’s their missing puzzle piece. And wow did he ever find his inner Dom! The Rebels are playing their best season ever. But the game against Las Vegas is the last game of the regular season. And a member of that team, a person that has a history with Danny and Marion, has the potential to ruin everything. Can Danny let go of his anger and just play football? Or will he choose to exact his revenge? First, this book is crazy hot as all the books in this series are. But it’s so much more than that. It’s about letting go, allowing yourself to live, and love. Both Danny and Carmina have guilt and anger they have to let go of in order to move on. And it seems Tom knows just how to help them do that. I’m not sure how many books are going to be in this series but I hope Samantha Kane keeps going. It’s so much fun and I’ve come to love this crazy bunch. So turn down the A/C, ladies, and come and meet the Birmingham Rebels.

**Advanced copy provided by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review** Misconduct is the fourth book in Samantha Kane's Birmingham Rebels series. I do believe that reading the first three books in this series help to frame some of what is referenced in the book and it also gives you background and basis on some of the relationships that are referenced. Carmina de la Cruz is still trying to find her new normal after being injured by an IED in Afghanistan. She suffered a traumatic brain injury and there are many things she is either learning to deal with or things that she desperately wants to get back to normal. One of those things is feeling like a woman. It has been three long years since she has felt like a woman. Because her best friend Sam plays for the Rebels, she spends a lot of time around the team and there have been not one, but two players who have caught her eye and she wonders if they might be the answer to her conundrum. Tom Kelly might be a rookie on the field, but he definitely isn't when it comes to knowing what he's doing in the bedroom. He certainly isn't hurting for companions and he doesn't discriminate, men, women, it doesn't matter to him as long as they are willing. When he learns of Carmina's plight, he's quick to want to help her out. Not only does he find her attractive, he's always fighting an attraction to his best friend and teammate Danny Smith. Danny has dabbled once with a man and he swears he'll never do it again, however there is a pull not only to Carmina, but also to Tom. As the three of them learn more about one another, it becomes apparent that Tom knows exactly what both Danny and Carmina needs. The question is, can Tom convince Danny to give he and Carmina a chance and can the guys make Carmina shut her mind off in order to get back what she's lost for so long? This book is definitely hot and is a great companion to the first books in this series. I do feel that this one delves a little deeper into the idea of letting go, trusting yourself, what you're feeling and most importantly to allow love into your life, regardless of what shape that comes in. I really enjoyed this addition to the series!
