Overview

Miss Fortune by Julia London

In the third book of The Fancy Lives of the Lear Sisters trilogy, a dreamy, sheltered heiress finds herself thrust into the real world, never imagining that a cold dose of reality holds the key to her happily ever after.

Rachel Lear lives in a dream world with her head in the clouds — and it’s starting to show. There’s the dissertation she can’t quite finish, the ex-boyfriend whom she has yet to kick to the curb, and those pesky twenty pounds she keeps meaning to lose. But when her overbearing father finally runs out of patience and cuts her off from the family fortune, Rachel finds herself thrust into the real world. She never could have guessed that’s where she would finally meet a knight in shining armor…

Handsome, charming, and with an English accent to boot, Flynn Oliver is exactly like the heroes Rachel reads about in romance novels. A man that sexy could have any woman he wants — but he only has eyes for Rachel. There’s just one catch: Flynn isn’t a fairy-tale prince. He’s a real man, with real secrets. Secrets that could destroy Rachel’s dreams — or give her the perfect ending after all.

This is the last one and I found it a little slow. The kooky friend added some amusement, but the old boyfriend was obvious. The whole family aspect was somewhat lacking.

I put it on my wish list, but prefer not to have the book told to me on a review.

I enjoyed the other two books in this series way more...very slow starting and the silly hocus pocus was just dumb....I did like the story but it took too long to get to it....

This is the last one and i was expecting to be as good as the others but it wasnt. The magic part was weird and it set an unusual tone for the rest of the book.

I really enjoyed this book. It's definitely predictable and we all know what's really going on with the supposed, "gifts" but it's still a fun read. The romance was sweet and Flynn is your typical dashing, charming Brit and he compliments Rachel very well. Her kooky friend and the whole "witchcraft" thing added some laughs and silly moments. Rachel's battle with the gym, brownies and the numerous temp agency jobs makes her seem real and helps make this book a delightful read. It's totally obvious in spots, but still very fun. I would recommend the entire Lear Sisters Trilogy.
