Many of the elements in the story seem to mimic Harry Potter. As usual, most indie writers leave a lot of back story out and this is no exception. The writing itself is pretty silly at times. Definitely for young adults.

Excellent mysterious beginning. I loved the character development and world building. The way the magic worked was well done and fascinating. I want to read the next one. Very good author and well worth the read. I highly recommend. It is scary, and it keeps you guessing. Ending not a cliff hanger but you want to know what is going to happen next. I could not predict where the story was going.

Kept me on the edge of my seat

If not for some disjointed areas, and the lack of more in depth explanations of what Bianca learns and how she uses her knowledge, I'd rate this more highly. But it's easy to see that you have a wonderful story to tell. I was captivated and look forward to the next book.

THIS WAS REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY AMAZING

Lots of action, twists, and turns. A heroine you can get behind and a villain who has ulterior motives yet unknown.

I really enjoyed this book! As a 30-something, I sometimes feel that books can be too childish but this captivated my attention and was entertaining to read. It did remind me slightly of the feel of the Harry Potter series - a fun read with slightly dark undertones - which made it hard for me to put down. I'm definitely intrigued to read the rest of the series!

I couldn't put this book down. I would read until the page blurred. Very good writing. Loved all the characters, even the main evil one. Have read the second in the series also and wish to finish all of them.

This story was able to keep me wanting to read more! Great read for any young or older person that enjoys fantasy with witches. A good movie could be made from this series. Looking forward to more magic and Miss Mabel’s just reward!

Miss Mabel’s School for Girls by Katie Cross Miss Mabel’s School for Girls is the first book of four in the Network Series and the first book I have read written by Katie Cross. It is by far not the last one of her series that I will read. I have already downloaded the second book. In some ways I compare this series to Harry Potter as it contains a school and forests and witches and spells. It pulled me in from the very beginning and kept me hooked. I needed to find out how and why Bianca Monroe, the main character who is a sixteen-year old witch, inherited a deadly curse. This novel is listed as a read for Young Adults, but as an “older” adult I found it a fascinating read. Ms. Cross writes in a style for all levels of readers. If you enjoy fantasy, then this book is definitely one you should purchase. Once you read it, you too will go looking to get the other three. 07.02.18

I am not a youngster, 77years old. Raised reading fairy tales, fantasy and what ever else I desired. Miss Mabel’s School for Girls stepped right in and took over. I couldn’t put it down. Wonderful characters, fast moving story line! Horrible, evil villains, brave young heroine, wonderful friends, surprises and heart break. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. Thank you Katie Cross for introducing Bianca to my world Sincerely, P. F. Rose........

Starts off slow. The beginning is- sort of like a Harry Potter take off. The story does get good, however, it ends in a cliff-hanger.

I'd have known that this is only the 1st book in a series of 4 books... that cost quite a bit. Well-done, tho.
