Many of the elements in the story seem to mimic Harry Potter. As usual, most indie writers leave a lot of back story out and this is no exception. The writing itself is pretty silly at times. Definitely for young adults.

Miss Mabel’s School for Girls by Katie Cross Miss Mabel’s School for Girls is the first book of four in the Network Series and the first book I have read written by Katie Cross. It is by far not the last one of her series that I will read. I have already downloaded the second book. In some ways I compare this series to Harry Potter as it contains a school and forests and witches and spells. It pulled me in from the very beginning and kept me hooked. I needed to find out how and why Bianca Monroe, the main character who is a sixteen-year old witch, inherited a deadly curse. This novel is listed as a read for Young Adults, but as an “older” adult I found it a fascinating read. Ms. Cross writes in a style for all levels of readers. If you enjoy fantasy, then this book is definitely one you should purchase. Once you read it, you too will go looking to get the other three. 07.02.18

I am not a youngster, 77years old. Raised reading fairy tales, fantasy and what ever else I desired. Miss Mabel’s School for Girls stepped right in and took over. I couldn’t put it down. Wonderful characters, fast moving story line! Horrible, evil villains, brave young heroine, wonderful friends, surprises and heart break. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. Thank you Katie Cross for introducing Bianca to my world Sincerely, P. F. Rose........

Starts off slow. The beginning is- sort of like a Harry Potter take off. The story does get good, however, it ends in a cliff-hanger.

I'd have known that this is only the 1st book in a series of 4 books... that cost quite a bit. Well-done, tho.

Well done. Off to a witch's school, mean teachers, learning spells, couple of friends...welcome to an alternative world like Harry Potters. Fun book, kept me reading past midnight. Off to get the next adventure.

This story that had moments reminiscent of Harry Potter's Triwizard Tournament. It was such nice change to read a YA book without a love interest, and it's been a while since I've delved into a novel about witches. I never quite connected with the MC, but this was an interesting, quick read with some suspenseful situations - and a villain that was easy to dislike.

I really enjoyed this book and plan to read all the others in this series. I am in my seventies, so you can see that Kate's books are enjoyed by all ages. So what are you waiting for? Down load this book and get started, you will be glad you did.

OMG!!!! I loved this book. It was a cross between the Harry Potter books and "American Horror story: Coven". Pulled me right in and would not let me out. This would make a great movie. I can only hope. On to book 2.
