is she doing the research project and will she stay on track? Or is she being researched herself and where is that going? An intriguing tale, based on a true story, with an unexpected flip at the end.

Expect the unexpected. This is a powerful short story with an intriguing plot line. Sebastian Roberts writes well developed characters and includes some mystery, suspense, science and spirituality in the mix. It is a delightful weekend read. Well worth your time.

Miss Match, by Sebastian Roberts, is a great read for an author's first book.
It's not a mystery, but some mysterious things happen. It's not a spy novel, but the main character, Winifred, known to her friends as Freddie, seems like a spy with her hidden microphone. Why is she recording her dates with all those guys? What is her project? Will she succeed?
It's not a romance novel, but romance beckons to Freddie. It's not a thriller, but reading the book is a thrill. In the end, we readers are treated to a surprise or two that will leave us liking professors a bit less, pondering the several possible morals of the story, and wondering where Freddie's life will lead her next.
One hopes that Freddie will resurface in future books because the character is adorable and well-developed. I want to read more books with Freddie in them. One of my favorite quotes is early in the book, by Freddie's daughter, Brea: “You always told me that progress included pain, Mom”...”Now I know what you mean.”
