About the Author

Visit me at jsmorin.com

I am a creator of worlds and a destroyer of words. As a fantasy writer, my works range from traditional epics to futuristic fantasy with starships. I have worked as an unpaid Little League pitcher, a cashier, a student library aide, a factory grunt, a cubicle drone, and an engineer--there is some overlap in the last two.

Through it all, though, I was always a storyteller. Eventually I started writing books based on the stray stories in my head, and people kept telling me to write more of them. Now, that's all I do for a living.

I enjoy strategy, worldbuilding, and the fantasy author's privilege to make up words. I am a gamer, a joker, and a thinker of sideways thoughts. But I don't dance, can't sing, and my best artistic efforts fall short of your average notebook doodle. When you read my books, you are seeing me at my best.

My ultimate goal is to be both clever and right at the same time. I have it on good authority that I have yet to achieve it.

Reminds me of the best SF from the 60s and 70s. Interesting characters, far fetched adventures, and really good story telling and development.

I really enjoyed reading this series, wonderful characters, good story lines for each mission and a nice overall development of the main theme. Not sure about another review concerning repeating text. My copy was fine, perhaps the other reviewer could contact B&N about a fresh copy.

Well written, funny and interesting characters. I will read them all! I hope the rest have the same interesting themes.

I picked up the first book in this collection from the free section to read on vacation. I liked it so much that I bought the second story. When it was time for book three, I realized that 1-4 were in a boxed set! Woo! Hoo! Each story so far highlights one of the crew members. It's great to find out more about them, where they came from, and their thoughts, beliefs, and experiences. I feel like I'm right there on the Mobius cruising through space with the gang. There's an extra treat! The author has included an additional short story after the 4th book. It's like getting unexpected chocolate chips on top of your ice cream! I hope this trend continues with the other Mission Pack collections! If you are a fan of Lindsay Boroker's Fallen Empire series or Simon Haynes's Hal Spacejock, you will enjoy this collection!

While I liked the characters and the story pages 206 three 435 are just the same text over and over - to bad very disappointing.
