Not quite as good as the others, though I'm not sure why. Again, Griffin is trying to give us insight into Varn, but even he admits that what he's feeling is silly...so it doesn't carry much weight. The setting on this one is fascinating - I've done some spelunking and can call up images of at least some of the places they went. The mission itself was - weird - the author had to create all kinds of prerequisites to get them into that situation. But said prerequisites were presented in a reasonably plausible manner. And we did get a lot of insight into _other_ people - the Hadesim and the new character, Bethe. It was clearly intended for this series to go on, but I've never seen any more books in it. Oooh! I love LT. There are actually 12 books in the series...need to hunt the later ones up!
