Ridley Ethridge stared at her drink and wondered if she really had the gall to go through with this. It was something she'd been musing over for weeks, and now that the time had come to finally put her money where her mouth was, her feet were colder than ice. All around her, people laughed and drank and flirted, just like they would at any other club.

But this was Serve. While the main floor looked like any other club, albeit a quirky one, upstairs was a completely different story. She took a sip of her drink, barely tasting the alcohol, and set the glass back on the bar with shaking hands. It had taken some doing—and more paperwork than she could have dreamed—but she was now one of the chosen few who could waltz across the dance floor, give her name, and go up to the exclusive BDSM club that occupied the space over her head.

She glanced at the elevator, the archway above it shaped like a giant mouth. The owner of Serve sure as hell had a strange sense of humor. Her gaze coasted over the hulking dude standing next to it. He was attractive in the way that all the employees seemed to be here, but she actually knew Nolan from her interviews. He was the manager here and, while his glare was enough to deter even the sloppily drunk girls on the other end of the bar from approaching, he was actually a pretty nice guy.

He caught her looking and winked, his sudden grin doing nothing to calm her nerves. She'd gone through all the necessary steps to put this whole thing into motion. All that was left was to actually get into motion.

If she didn't do it soon, she'd chicken out. Ridley knew herself well enough to know that. She'd never met a bet that she wouldn't take, but there was no one holding her accountable here. Hell, no one even knew she was here except Sara, and her best friend wouldn't set foot inside this place unless both her brothers Will and Garrett were out of town and there was no chance she'd run into them.

No, Ridley had no one to blame for this so-called brilliant idea except herself. But she was tired of sitting around, waiting for Fate to turn a kind eye her way.

Every other part of her life was kicking ass right now. Her business was booming, and she was well on her way to being ready for Fashion Week in a month. She was poised on the edge of greatness—if she didn't botch it. This was her shot to bring her name into the big leagues, and it might make her nervous enough to puke just thinking about it, but she was as prepared as she was going to be. She had her situation on lockdown.

Her love life? Yeah, not so much. She hadn't had a second date in two years, and it seemed like her prospects dimmed with each month that went by. It wasn't that she needed a man, exactly, but the slow tide of loneliness never hesitated to yank her under whenever she had a weak moment, and she was damn tired of it.

Not to mention sex. She missed sex in a big way.

Which was why she was here, stalling until she got up the courage to step into that elevator. Tonight she was meeting Will in one of the private rooms upstairs. The man was everything she was supposed to want. He was kind, and successful, and hotter than sin.

And, yeah, he had a boatload of issues just like any of the Reaver siblings—something she was well acquainted with, having grown up around them—but he was still loyal to a fault. Really, she never would have given more than a second thought if not for that night a few months ago. It was one of the rare times where she'd been spending time with both Sara and Will, all three of them hanging out at Sara's place and drinking while they watched one of those Ultimate Fighting Championships. They'd ribbed him about never dating anyone and he must have been feeling the alcohol as much as Ridley was, because his mask had dropped long enough for her to see naked longing there. She hadn't been able to get that look out of her head, or the belief that Will might be exactly the right man to settle down with. He just needed the right motivation.

Unlike his twin, Garrett, who waltzed off wherever the wind decided to take him ...

No. She was not thinking about Garrett right now. The memory of him had already ruined more than one blossoming relationship, and she refused to allow it to happen this time. Ridley downed the rest of her drink and pushed to her feet. If she sat down here any longer, she was going to talk herself right out of doing this, and that was inexcusable. She'd been taking the safe option for far too long when it came to love.

It was time to take that first step into the future.

She skirted the edge of the dance floor and stopped in front of Nolan. He grinned down at her, looking miles away from the glowering bouncer that he appeared across the room. "I thought for sure you'd change your mind."

"Not me." Even if she felt a little bit like she might lose that drink she'd just finished.

"Relax, Ridley." He clasped her on the shoulder. "You don't have to do anything you don't want to do. If it's too much, just go up and watch for a bit."

Nolan was the one who she'd given the description of what she wanted—big, blond, and gorgeous. It had been a risk asking for an anonymous meet-up based solely on a description, even knowing for sure Will would be at the club that night, but she couldn't bring herself to put it out there so ... bluntly. Ridley flushed, remembering her exact words. Norse god is the term that comes to mind. It described Will to a T.

Though it also described—

She shut that thought down real fast, and offered Nolan a smile. "I know."

He shook his head. "Stubborn little thing. Well, if you find Reaver not to your tastes, I'm more than happy to step in."

"Ah, thanks." Her heartbeat picked up. Reaver. I'm about to have dirty, dirty sex with Will Reaver. Her head spun, leaving her wondering if maybe she really was going to pass out.

No, she was better than this. So she stepped through the giant mouth and into the elevator. Nolan's grin widened. "Have fun."

The elevator doors closing on her felt like they were cutting her off from the rest of the world. There was no turning back now. She closed her eyes and pictured Will's face—or tried to. The one that came to mind was nearly identical, but a little rougher around the edges and always wearing a mocking smile.

She shoved the thought away. Again. No. Absolutely not. Garrett didn't deserve a spare thought from her. Even thinking about him made her hands curl and her blood-pressure spike. Eight years hadn't been enough to dull the sting of what he'd done, and she didn't anticipate that getting better in the next eight years. Both he and Will had been two years ahead of her and Sara in school, and she'd been ready and willing to give Garrett everything after he graduated.

Only to find out she wasn't the only one he had slotted for that night.

"Goddamn it, no. He's not going to ruin this, too." He left after that weekend, went off and joined the Rangers, and she'd moved on with her life. It was Will who had stayed, gone to college, and become a successful business consultant, and it was Will who had spent the last few months oblivious to her advances.

The elevator doors opened two levels up, saving her from herself, and she plunged into another world. The color scheme was the same as downstairs—sleek and monochromatic—but there was an air of hushed expectancy, broken only by the occasional groan or moan. She tried not to stare at what the man was doing to the woman bent over a bench, but there was another couple sitting by, watching avidly. She stopped, her heart in her throat as his hand came down on his partner's bare ass, reddening it more. The woman groaned, the sound a strange mix of pleasure and pain.

It was all too easy to imagine herself in the woman's place, bent and exposed and totally at the mercy of her Dom. Ridley's skin heated. She'd been fighting the desire to submit for too long, because the need was all tied up in her anger at Garrett. He was the one who first unlocked it, and so she'd refused to go there with anyone else because it was always associated with him.

When she'd found out that Will frequented Serve, it seemed like the answer to her problems. He was strong and steady and seemed to have kinks that complimented her own. He would be the one to help her get past the mediocre sex she'd had in the past and into something else. Not Garrett.

She came back to herself as the man's hands went to the front of his pants and he began undoing them. Face flaming, she turned so sharply she almost tripped, and hurried down the hallway, her heart beating too hard. She was actually here. The hallway was lined with numbered doors, which meant the room she was supposed to be in was three doors down.

The knob turned under her hand, and she almost backed out right then. It was only through sheer force of will that she opened the door and slid into the room.

Ridley blinked in the low light and looked around. A bed with vivid red sheets took up the center, while a strange-looking bench was positioned in the corner opposite the door. She eyed the trunk at the end of the bed, its surface containing things she'd only read about on the Internet. Her hand hovered in the air above each item—a flogger, a set of canes, a bullet vibrator, Velcro cuffs, and a dildo of truly impressive proportions. Her skin prickled at the thought of it all being used on her. She'd known he didn't do things halfway but ... It was a lot to take in.

The one thing the room didn't contain was Will.

Her gaze landed on a simple white card lying in the middle of the bed. She walked over and picked it up, skimming the words twice before they sank in.

Take off your clothes. Put on the blindfold. Kneel.

She dropped the card from suddenly shaking fingers. Holy shit. This wasn't exactly what she'd had in mind when she thought up the so-called brilliant plan. She looked around. Was he watching her right now? Testing her? From everything she'd read about BDSM, power exchange was the name of the game. If she wasn't up for this, she had no business being here.

Apparently that wavier she signed hadn't really sunk in—all those things she'd read on that list of hard limits really could happen to her.

Ridley stared at the note, the handwriting as recognizable as her own. This was Will. Whatever he was into, he was still the man she grew up with. Her mind tried to shy away to Garrett, but she firmly shut the door on that thought. Garrett wasn't even in town, and there was no telling when he'd fly through for a day or two, only to fly out again. God forbid the man put down any sort of roots.

She took off her clothes and left them folded on the floor next to the chest. The blindfold was plainer than she expected; just shiny black padded fabric that would cover the top half of her face. Maybe she should have worn lipstick?

Ridley gritted her teeth and knelt next to the bed. She tied the blindfold, careful to keep it from tangling with her long hair, and took a deep breath.

She could do this. She would do this.

* * *

Garrett strode through Serve, so damn glad to be home, it wasn't even funny. Normally, he was more than happy to do the back-to-back missions—anything to keep him constantly on the move—but lately there'd been a restlessness just beneath his skin that he couldn't get rid of, no matter how busy he was. He'd ignored it as long as he could, but eventually the siren-call of home had been too strong to resist.

So, here he was, looking for a play partner to keep him occupied for a few hours. Even that thought didn't hold the appeal it normally did, but he'd told Will he'd meet him here, and so here he was.

The man in question leaned against the wall outside the private rooms, staring at his phone, a small frown on his face. Instantly, Garrett went into high alert. "Problem?"

Will shrugged. "Sara seems to have gotten herself into some sort of trouble."

When it came to their little sister, that wasn't even remotely a surprise. She attracted trouble like a high-powered magnet. "What kind of trouble?"

"She didn't say, but she needs me to retrieve her." Will typed something into his phone.

It just figured that she'd called Will instead of Garrett. Once upon a time, he'd been her go-to brother to bail her out, but that had changed after their mom left—along with everything else. It never stopped stinging, though. "Need me to come help out?"

"Not necessary." He finally looked up. "But I do need a favor, if you're so inclined."

This should be interesting. "Sure."

"There's a pretty little sub in there waiting for me." He nodded at the door they stood next to. "Nolan said her tastes run toward Dominants who are blond in a 'Norse god kind of way.'"

Garrett grinned despite himself. He knew how the subs talked about him and Will—especially the subs they'd shared—but it sure as hell didn't hurt his ego any to hear terms like Norse god thrown around. "She order a two-fer?"

"No. She's a new member, and if I'm not mistaken, this is her first time out." His brother's grin was mirthless. "Nolan has apparently taken a shine to her, because he threatened life and limb if she ends up traumatized and never returns."

A newbie? And Nolan had passed her to Will? Not that his twin was a monster by any means, but his tastes ran the gamut. It was like teaching a person to swim by throwing them in the middle of the ocean and saying "Have at it!" Garrett crossed his arms over his chest. "She take the newbie class?"

Will shrugged. "I haven't the slightest. Would you mind standing in? She's expressed interest in bondage with her sex, so she's really more your cup of tea than mine anyway."

"Yeah, no problem."

"Thank you." His phone chimed, and he sighed. "I'm going to go take care of our wayward sister."

Garrett watched his twin walk away and took a deep breath, letting the bullshit fall away. Whoever this sub was, she deserved better than to submit to a Dom who was distracted by the rest of the world outside that room. He walked into the room and quietly shut the door behind him.

His twin sure as hell had a sense of showmanship, though Will would deny it to his dying day. The perimeter lights were all down, leaving only the cluster above the bed lit and bathing the room in shadows. The chest at the end of the bed was in every private room, but his twin had decided to start his mindfuck early, because he'd laid out a variety of toys for the woman to get a good look at. A little fear primed a subbie for greater pleasure, but this wasn't the way he'd have gone about it.

Intentionally ignoring the woman, he surveyed the items. Canes? Really, Will? His brother was a fucking ass. There was no way he'd use them on a brand new submissive, no matter what the implied threat was.

Garrett shook his head and finally gave in to the urge to drink in the sight of the woman kneeling beside the bed, her head bowed, her dark hair trailing down her back.

The image hit him like a punch in the gut. Ass or not, he was going to have to give Will a bottle of whiskey or something, because this subbie was exactly his type. He'd stopped lying to himself years ago about why he was attracted to petite brunettes—it all sourced back to one particular petite brunette.

And now here was this woman, a first-timer who was a dead ringer for Ridley.

His cock went rock hard, and his heartbeat pounded in his ears. How many times had he fantasized about being the one to fully initiate her into the darker shades of sex and dominance? More than he could possibly count. They'd barely dipped their toes into the possibilities back in high school, just enough to whet his appetite for dominance, and to show him exactly how hot she found submitting. Closing his eyes, he forced himself to take a deep breath, and then another. He wasn't some fumbling almost-virgin, and this woman deserved better than to have him fall on her like a ravaging beast.

As posted on The Smutty Kitty reviewed by KittyKelly 5 out of 5 Licks Let’s end this year with a bang and a great book!  I was only about 15% into this book when I quickly requested the next in the series for review.  It starts off in a BDSM club so you know it’s going to be good!!  Ridley and Garrett have a hell of a past, but after a bit of a brother swap Garrett is determined to at least have one last taste of Ridley before he gives her up forever.  This book is part of the Serve world (several authors contributing) and even though I haven’t read any other books in this world I didn’t feel like I’d missed out on anything.  This is also only my second book from Katee but there will most definitely be more!  I really enjoy her writing style and her character development is fantastic.  I was invested in Ridley from the first moment and although it took a little longer for me to come around to Garrett’s side, Katee totally  made it happen.  I’ve got Garrett’s brother Will’s book queued up on my iPad now and I can’t wait to see what happens next in the series!

Originally posted on my blog: Tangled Up In Books I've really been enjoying the Serve series so far. Reading these next two books in the series though, had me both nervous and excited. Nervous because books three and four are by a different author and I haven't read anything by her before this. Yet excited because this gives me the opportunity to, hopefully, find a brand new author to get into. Now after reading Mistaken by Fate I can safely say that Katee Robert was the perfect person to add to this series. Before I put a dent in it I was already grinning from ear to ear and now I can't wait to pick up the ARC I have for the next book in the series, also by Katee Robert, Betting on Fate. I instantly fell in love with all of the characters in this book. Ridley was a great main character. She's very together, has a career she's passionate about with an opportunity to make it big, great friends, she's sweet and funny and spunky...the only thing missing is the romance. Garrett was, well the only word that instantly comes to mind when I think about him is yum! I have a thing for the alpha males and Garrett was about as alpha as they get. He's flawed and has a job that has the possiblity to throw him in danger so he's very hard and tough, but there's a sweet side to him, at least when it comes to Ridley that steals your heart. He's probably my faovorite guy from this series so far. The other two key characters in the book were Garrett's siblings who added a lot of fun to the story as well. I loved how both Sara and Will were always in a way pushing Ridley and Garrett together. It was like everyone but them could see, and had been seeing for years, the feelings and sparks going on between these tow. Getting to know them a bit also has me also looking forward to the next book even more which happens to be Garrett's twin brother Will's book. It was hinted quite a bit while reading this one that Will has a bit of a darker side so it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. I've loved all the books in this series so far and like I said Katee Robert did an excellent job with keeping up the same vibe that I got from reading the books by Tessa Bailey. I will without a doubt be picking up more books by her in the future!

After falling in love with Tessa Bailey's Serve series books, Served by Fate and Exposed by Fate, I was excited to learn Katee Roberts was writing books in the series. I've enjoyed Katee's books in the past and I couldn't wait to see the Serve world through her eyes. Mistaken by Fate was full of sexy bondage fun and I enjoyed it immensely.  I love a good second chance romance story and Mistaken by Fate was that, with a heaping helping of BDSM goodness added in for good measure. Ridley's an up-and-coming fashion designer who is looking for more passion in her life (and her bedroom). Intrigued by the club Serve, she decides to join and seduce her friend, Will. The night of their first "date," she has one of the most satisfying experiences of her life, but when it's all said and done it wasn't Will, but his twin brother – and the man who broke her heart – Garrett who she gave herself over to.  The history between Ridley and Garrett was rocky, but the chemistry they shared was intense. The sexual tension leapt off the pages and when they gave in to their desires and continued on with Ridley's education, it was smokin' hot. I don't read a lot of BDSM books and I found this one a little more adventurous than the first two in the Serve series, but that's not a bad thing. Garrett gave good dirty talk and I'm a big fan of that in a Brazen book boyfriend.  As much as I enjoyed the fun, dirty times, my favorite part of this book was the journey that Ridley and Garrett took back to each other. I liked watching them overcome their past drama and submit to what was in front of them now. It was obvious they still shared a connection and I was definitely rooting for them. The next book, Betting on Fate, is Will's book and I can't wait for it. Will's tastes run a little darker and I'm ready for a little education of my own. I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Another hot emotional read by Katee Robert that definitely complements Tessa Bailey's "By Fate" series so very nicely. Ms. Robert has taken a very strong Somme and given him his perfect sub in Ridley. Their past history was heartbreaking and I could feel for Ridley. She was such a spitfire of a character. I love how she stuck up for herself with Garrett. But it was also pretty hot when she would let him pleasure her and take care of her. Garrett was very much the alpha but who had a vulnerable heart. It was very frustrating at times seeing him flip flop and not be totally honest with himself or Ridley. I truly enjoy stories that make me feel for their characters and this one did tremendously. I cannot wait for more in this series. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher.

Having enjoyed Tessa Bailey's first book in the Serve series, I was excited to see that Katee was joining in on the fun! The story includes some of my all-time favorite tropes (second chance romance, falling for the best friend's brother...) so naturally I knew it was going to be a win. This is a pretty short book, so things move at a pretty fast pace. No worries though, I still felt Garrett and Ridley's relationship worked really well despite the speed in which everything progressed. Robert does a great job leaving some character's storylines unresolved, as she is going to be writing more for the series. I liked both Ridley and Garrett. They were great characters and they definitely have some unresolved business between them. As much as Ridley wants to believe she's put Garrett Reaver behind her a long time ago, she really hasn't ever gotten over him. The same goes for Garrett. He unknowingly walks into a room and upon spotting the sub kneeling on the floor blindfolded, the first thoughts he has are of how this girl reminds him of Ridley. He is completely surprised when he finds out it IS her. Surprised and a bit irritated, as she thought she was getting his twin brother.... Now that he's had a taste of her, he decides once is just not enough and is determined to make her his... if only for a night. Garrett underestimates Ridley though. She can act as though his reemergence into her life doesn't bother her, but it does. This man still has the ability to affect her, even after years of avoiding him and after breaking her heart. Garrett is one sexy hunk of a man. I love that he is undeterred when it comes to Ridley, but he definitely frustrated me with his feelings that he can't give her more. Having been abandoned by the one woman he should never have to do without, he secretly fears that Ridley would leave him, thus destroying his heart. He really battles over what to do, knowing he can't keep her, but can't seem to leave her alone either. The more Ridley gives in, she loses another piece of her heart to the man she swore she would never let hurt her again. I'm looking forward to Katee's next book Betting on Fate. I'm hoping it will be Will's story and I'm hoping it will be with a certain dark-haired vixen we were briefly introduced to in this book. It seems like there's some history between them and I'm quite curious as to what it is. This shorter novel packs quite the punch- I like that Robert didn't go too overboard with the BDSM and the sex scenes. Instead, we get the best of both worlds: steamy, hot sex and watching Ridley and Garrett overcome their past to start thinking of a future.

4 Do you Understand? stars Another great addition to this series.. The 3rd book in this series that concentrates on members of the Serve BDSM club, sees the introduction of a different author. Katee Robert picks up the reins and brings us an unlikely set of twins that couldn’t be more different. Ridley Ethridge has been the best friend of Sara Reaver since childhood, and is therefore very familiar with her older twin brothers; Will and Garrett. Infact, she has had her heart shattered by the "fly by night’ Garrett many years ago, and has since decided that the dependable Will is probably more suited to appease her submissive side. Garrett Reaver finds himself at the exclusive Serve club, when he’s back in town, and this evening in particular, covering for his brother. Will’s attention had been sought by a novice Sub, who had specific intentions of becoming the best student Will had ever taught. The lessons commence, and the air is electric, until the blindfold comes off, and the identities of both parties are revealed. This little steam inducer started off at a very high temperature, then proceeded to rise. Garrett displayed his true dominance, but with a touch of sensitivity on the side. Ridley was reluctant to repeat the mistake that led to her broken heart years ago, but Garrett was all out for proving he did it with the best intentions. I found both the MC’s very likeable, very quickly. Add to that, the chemistry that they brought to this together..perfick! Advanced Readers Copy Courtesy of Entangled Publishing..:) Just when I thought Katee Roberts books could not get better, she delves into the erotic world of BDSM and puts all others to shame!!!! I absolutely adored the story of Ridley and Garrett, and I loved how she is contributing to the world of "Serve" that Tessa Bailey created.... Ridley is a fashion designer who is about to embark on her first "Fashion Week" and she is frantically getting all her designs ready. This part of her life (the career side) is running smoothly and since its been a while between orgasms she decides now is the time to rectify that. Also she has been interested in BDSM for a while now and she is going to kill two birds with one stone.... She is also going to use her best friends Sara's brother Wil for the task. He may not hold her heart the way his twin brother Garrett once did, but she is certainly going to try her hand with him. When Garrett arrives to meet his brother at Serve, he does not expect him to ask him to help out a new subbie for the evening, and he certainly does not expect that Sub to be Ridley, the women who has haunted his dreams for the last 8 years. What ensues is a passion fuelled book full of lots of steamy scenes between a very hot Dom and his very sassy little Sub. Even though the books is short and sweet it will hold your attention from start to end and believe me, you will not want it to end. Looking forward to Wil's story soon...

Katee Robert's Mistaken by Fate is the third book from Entangled's Serve Series. Each book is centered around Serve, Manhattan's hottest BDSM club, and in this story, fashion designer Ridley Ethridge and army ranger Garrett Reaver, are in the hot seat. Ridley and Garrett fell in love with kinky sex play and each other back in high school. Their relationship ended badly back then, and now eight years later, they end up together at Serve. Ridey is a novice while Garrett is very experienced with the BDSM lifestyle. Futhermore, Will, Garrett's twin brother, is also a Serve member. Ridley and Garrett's time together is both powerful and explosive. Their chemistry is off the charts and I liked how Garrett took the time to ensure Ridley was comfortable with what they were doing. Ms. Robert's sex scenes are written with loving passion in addition to well-described kink. I have read more than a few BDSM themed books and this is most likely my favorite because the storyline is just as prominent as the sex scenes. Overall, a hot read with characters that are easy to relate to and an extremely romantic happily ever after. Complimentary copy provided by the publisher.

This steamy entry in the Serve series treats us to the romance between Ridley and Garrett. Childhood friends, complete with a teenage crush, Ridley was heartbroken when Garrett rejected her for another. Now, several years later, she's determined to push her future to the forefront by enticing Garrett's twin brother Will into a relationship with her by seducing him at the BDSM club Serve. That night is one of the hottest moments of Ridley's life - until the blindfold comes off and she realizes the brothers have changed places and it's not Will with her after all. Now that Garrett's had a taste of what Ridley can be with him, will he be willing to let her be with his brother as she thinks she wants, or go after her himself? If there is one thing you can be assured of, it's that an Entangled Brazen story will bring the heat, and this one is no exception! From the first the sexual attraction between Ridley and Garrett is well established and the scenes between them are steamy and seductive. But the characterization is equally important for a story to have meaning and both Ridley and Garrett are engaging personalities. Garrett has always cared for Ridley, trying desparately not to see her as an attractive young woman but as his sister's best friend, a plan that gets derailed pretty quickly when he finds her at the club willing to give herself to his brother. He's a handsome and dominant man, thrilled by Ridley's response to him and not willing to give her up. Ridley is a friendly, competent and ultimately lonely woman, looking for a real relationship but never imagining that Garrett would be the one to give that to her. I loved how their feelings for each other, always hidden, finally had the chance to come to the surface. We get glimpses of Garrett's siblings Will and Sara through the story who will get their own happy endings in future stories as well, both promising to be steamy, sexy tales if this one is any indication! There was one scene near the end that I found a bit disconcerting (no spoilers) but overall it was an entertaining read from beginning to end. 4 stars!

Katee Robert has opened her Serve series with a bang. We know she can can deliver sexy, but her debut into the BDSM world? Exactly what I was hoping for. 'From this point on, you will call me 'Sir'. Do you understand?' We have a Dom and sub who have a history, but not one that involves the BDSM world. When Ridley Etheridge and Garrett Reaver become re-acquainted, it brings a whole raft of emotion and panty-burning action. Ridley has never forgiven him for leaving her but Garrett had his reasons, and whilst it can never be more than him introducing her into his world and living out the fantasies he's had for years, it doesn't mean he doesn't want more. 'It’s going to happen because you want it to as much as I do. You got a taste of what it means to submit to me at Serve, and you’re already craving it again.' He was, for me, a perfect Dom; in the bedroom he's a master, but isn't cold, detached or alpha with it and outside he is attentive and gentle, but with a wicked dirty streak. Ridley is a natural submissive, and whilst she isn't afraid to voice her thoughts and concerns, she also trusts Garrett and this is what made the entire book work for me. Together they bring new meaning to the words public, display and affection. 'I'm going to strip you down and tie your hands to my bedframe. While you're still testing the knots, I'm going to touch every inch of your body.' With an introduction to Garrett's siblings - identical twin Will and their firecracker of a younger sister Sara - I have high hopes that this is going to be another winning series from Katee. And knowing that Will's book involves a ménage, I'm looking forward to seeing what that brings. 4.5 stars. Reviewed for Read Your Writes Book Reviews. 3.5 "whatever you're selling, I don't want any part of it." Stars! Mistaken by Fate is Katee Roberts first addition to the Serve series, and Garrett Reaver is definitely a keeper! Before him came Oliver and Jonah, the one thing they have in common… Serve BDSM Club. I really liked Garrett and Ridley together, Garrett is definitely a Dom, and not just an alpha male, and although he wholly takes charge in the bedroom, at the club and on any other available wall or surface of his choosing Ridley quickly understands that her pleasure is still his top priority, and by pushing her boundaries and controlling her pleasure things develop into more than just sex. ”It’s called aftercare, baby. Get used to it.” Ridley is independent, so submitting in any part of her life comes initially as a bit of a challenge, but Garrett senses that in the bedroom giving up control is ultimately what will give her the most amount of pleasure, and he is determined to be the one to initiate her into the scene. She’d never met a bet that she wouldn’t take. When he discovers that his brother Will is her initial choice after inadvertently stepping in and taking his place in one of Serve’s private rooms, long held feelings and emotions surface, and although he isn’t in it for the long haul he makes Ridley and offer she can’t refuse. ”Garrett had always been the one – the one who broke her heart, the one who got away, the one she’d lost her mind over the second he crooked a finger at her. These two have a past, and it plays a big part in how their present plays out together. I am a huge softy for the best friend’s older brother trope. Katee pretty much delivered up the perfect mesh of sexy-times, romance and emotion between this couple, and I would have happily read a longer book with more development into Ridley’s discovery of the art of submitting to the man she gave her heart to as a teenager. ”Fighting for something makes you appreciate it all the more.” Tessa Bailey and Katee Robert have delivered the goods with every book in this series so far, I am interested to see where it takes us next.
