How much can go wrong in your first year of teaching law school? At the beginning of the term, Wendy King, a petite twenty-eight year old, agrees to allow Roger Fragonard to take her class even though it conflicts with another. Roger, surly and disruptive, tests her skills; worse, egged on by a faculty member who's afraid Wendy will interfere with his own tenure, Roger accuses her of sexual harassment. And the chairman of the committee that will decide her fate keeps trying to proposition her. But Wendy defeats her tormentors and ends the year a better teacher and deeper person.
