Overview

Mogul by Katy Evans

A brand new contemporary romance from New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author Katy Evans.

He's my most delicious secret.
The hot Suit I had a one-night stand with one evening.
I didn't know anything about him, not even his name.
Only that we shared a taxi, and he was staying at the hotel where I worked.
We met in room 1103. Where he commanded not only my body but my soul.
The next day he was gone and I only had a memory of him.
I could still taste his kisses, feel his demanding touch.
I searched for him for months. Daydreaming about him. Wondering if I'd ever find him.
Until the day I find myself staring face to face with his jeweled black eyes again.
He says lets keep it casual, and my heart knows that falling for this workaholic in a three-thousand-dollar suit is off the table.
Because he has a secret. One that's a deal breaker for me.
My Suit has a name.
Ian Ford.
And this is our story.

*Mogul contains characters from Tycoon, but is written to be read as a standalone.

AudioBook Review Stars: Overall 5 Narration 5 Story 5 A one-night stand story that unfolds into obsession, craving and unearthing of deepest secrets, Sara and Ian’s story is a clash of desire crashing into potential. Told in dual points of view, we see Sara’s struggles with a life that hasn’t turned out quite the way she envisioned, and Ian’s rather cynical view of relationships and single-minded focus on work play out in ways unexpected. Sara is a concierge at an upscale Manhattan hotel, late-ish for work, she flags a cab and after a bit of wrangling, finds herself sharing the ride with the sexiest man in a suit she’s ever seen. Expecting this to be a quick cab ride and nothing more, the two take off to continue their day. A series of unexpected events led Sara to the job she needs to survive, rather than her dream job of appearing on Broadway, add an injury and just simple struggle to survive, and she’s been sidetracked from her dreams. Ian is a force to be reckoned with – a Hollywood mogul, he’s produced blockbuster films, owns two production companies, and is always thinking of the next project. He’s intrigued by the girl he shared a cab ride with, but he has his limits and what he will offer of himself to a woman – and tonight is what’s on offer. One hot night filled with every fantasy imaginable, Sara and Ian have an unforgettable night which will have them both in places neither expected. Sara loses her job, and has to make do with any and everything she can: not surprisingly her time and encounters with Ian are not yet complete. Good thing, because she cannot get the memory of the night out of her head. Sexy, steamy and wholly engaging, what started as a simple (if incredibly hot) night becomes so much more as Ian and Sara find that they fill a need neither knew they had. Super-hot, emotionally far more present than one might expect, Ian and Sara find themselves in a tangle that involves far more than the sheets. Narration for this story is provided by Grace Grant and Sebastian York, a favorite duo of mine. Grant’s ability to present the longing, confusion and hope in Sara provides a clear and present contrast to Ian’s rather ‘businesslike’ approach to all things emotional, all things in fact, and York’s presentation of his rather buttoned-up boardroom, darkly sensual alpha in the bedroom come through clearly, helping the listener access the emotions of the moment while still clearly finding a sense of the man and the relationship to come. Like all of Katy Evans’ titles, this is a hot, happy and surprisingly emotional story, this one being seriously low-angst, without leaving the tale flat and without drama. Ian and Sara have plenty of steam between them, and their connection is clear and present, without overwhelming listeners with unneeded drama – this is romance for the modern day: hot, quick, palpable and sure to make you smile. I received an AudioBook copy of the title from Simon and Schuster AudioBooks for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility. You better break out the SPF for this one! Ian, and Sara are scorching up some pages! I always tell myself no one can top the last male heart-throb I read about, but then Katy comes along and proves me wrong. This man is just Yummy! From the moment Sara meets the handsome, arrogant Mr.Ford. Sparks fly, but she pegs him as the kind of man who usually doesn't hear the word "no", Sara being a bit of a spitfire, keeps Ian on his toes. Even after losing her panties to this sex god. The steamy chemistry between these two pulls you into a bit of a trance. You will not want to stop reading until the very last page. I finished this one in almost one sitting! If you loved Tycoon, you will want to pick Mogul up for sure! Along with Katy's other fantastic reads.

***4.5 Stars!*** "He looks like business, but underneath his suit is an appeal so raw I can only wonder how it would feel to claw my nails under that white button shirt, undo his tie, grab him by the collar, get that perfect black hair mussed, and feel his damn gorgeous hands on me." Katy Evans has done it again! She has written yet another sexy, swoon-a-licious love story with one hot suit. Ian Ford is every girls dream. Tall, dark, and incredibly handsome; built like a greek god, but with a mouth like a dirty sailor. I loved how honest and vulnerable Ian was when he met Sara. Their chance encounter was perfectly written and brimming with angst. Sara was sex and sin. She was strong, confident, and bold. I loved how she saw what she wanted and didn't hold back. But then again, how could anyone resist Mr. Sex-on-a-stick? It was really fun to have a bit of Bryn and Christos in this book too, and I can't wait to read Becca's story next! As always, I thoroughly enjoyed Ms. Evans' work. Her storylines are captivating and full of heart. Her characters are real and relatable. I am always thrilled to pick up her latest release. She continues to be one of my most favorite authors. It all started with Real and I have been hooked ever since! Fans of hers will love Ian and Sara. Those that have not read any of Katy Evans' books... what have you been waiting for?! ♥ Review by Lys

Katy Evans has done it again with her writing magic. If there's one thing this author can do, it's writing with complete abandonment and not following any rules of guidelines on how a romance story unfolds. I applaud this author for being daring and writing the way a story should be told. This author can write in colors and emotion, pulling feelings from you that you never thought your could experience just reading a story. I realize this is only a romance, but it's still so finely written. Ian and Sara are a dynamite explosion right at your finger tips. A one night stand turns into much more than either of them could predict. The tension and passion jump off the pages and does not let up the entire story. You will not want to put this story down for anything, sleep, food, rest. Another thing that I was ecstatic about was that there wasn't the normal break-up between these two characters that seem to be in every romance story out there. This couple have issues, no doubt, but the two of them face the issue head on and get to resolutions couples should with trust and honesty. I loved that this story was written this way. I absolutely love the pet names Sara uses for Ian. She calls him her yummy mother...., and dirty workaholic suit. And let's face it, Ian is just yummy in every way! And Ian is one dirty talker too! He's the whole package with a smile! It was nice seeing a bit of Bryn and Christos as well, a little revisit since Sara and Bryn are room mates. This can really be read in a day also, it's fast paces, emotion packed, hot and super yummy! Another spectacular writing accomplishment for this author.

An unputdownable book full of passion and heat! Man oh man, Katy Evans knows just how to write alpha men. Ian is smoking hot, very successful, and has no problem giving orders when it matters. Sara Davies may have taken him by surprise by getting into the same cab with him, but he quickly takes charge. These two steam up the pages, and I couldn't get enough of them. Mogul is tied to the same world as Tycoon, but is easily read as a standalone. That being said, if you have already read Tycoon, (and you should, because-amazing!) I loved seeing some familiar characters from a different point of view. Anyway, back to Mogul, I completely ravished this delectable book. I loved the characters, I loved the story, and the sexy times were off the chart. You won't regret reading this one!

Mogul by Katy Evans is a hot and passionate romance novel. Sara Davies isn't at her dream job, which would be on Broadway, but being a hotel concierge has it's perks. A shared cab ride with a hot, and suited, businessman turns into something more when he ends up staying at her hotel and a very passionate interaction in room 1103. Ian Ford is a driven professional who works hard, when his wife cheats on him it is something he never saw coming and then when she drags out the divorce it makes things even worse. He wasn't looking for something or someone new, in fact he had thrown himself even more into work, but a cab ride with Sara sparks something he never expected and soon he realizes he can't get enough. The story has multiple divorce themes, both with Ian and with Sara's parents. These circumstances make it hard for each of them to trust to the developing love that is growing between them. With the failures of past relationships and those around them they progress in fits and starts. I found that the issues they were grappling with seemed to be complex and real. Allowing themselves to love and then embracing it when it is in front of them is harder than having hot, passionate, nights. Overall I enjoyed Mogul by Katy Evans. It was a novel with well developed and thought out characters and plot as well as romance, passion and fun. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance review copy of this book I received for free in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)

I have been a fan of Katy for awhile and love her book, but this one, this one takes the cake! Who knew that one tiny event that shouldn't have happened, one event could change your whole world. This book has everything you could ever want in a romance. There is drama, chemistry, wonderful friendships within the side characters, steamy, off the charts moments, and love! Katy's writing style is totally unique and stands out miles beyond the rest! This is a story about finding love when you least expect it!

Fantastic! I fell in love with the characters and their backstories. Every scene was crafted so perfectly and Katy’s descriptive writing had me right there...watching Sara and Ian’s worlds collide. It was great story filled with humor, sexy time and raw emotions. The time flew by and now— I. Want. More. Mogul has all the feels. This standalone will leave you smiling and wanting to read it again. Trust me...A. MUST. READ.

HOT HOT HOT Ian and Sara's chemistry is off the charts. They burn up the sheets. From the first page this story was explosive. Another amazing job by Katy Evans. Ian wanted casual because he wasn't in a position to commit to anyone. He was a workaholic which if you ask Cordelia is what ruined their relationship. He was only trying to make something of himself but forgot to enjoy on the way. When he met Sara he learned to step back and enjoy life and appreciate what living in the now was all about. He felt things with her he never felt with Cordelia. Sara understood that he couldn't commit to her yet but she still was there for him. He was worth the wait. Katy Evans' books keep getting better and better. They keep you hooked with every word written. Not only is Mogul a five star read but Katy Evans is a five star author.

4.9 Stars We remember Sara as Bryn's roomie from TYCOON. And now she's here to tell her own story - which is taking place at the same time as the first book. Bryn just moved in with Sara and Sara just had the most amazing one-night stand with her mystery guy in the hotel where she works. Or used to work, because now she's been let go ... But she can't forget her hot mystery suit! Ian. We met him for a second in TYCOON when he visited his grandma - who's dog Sara and Bryan are working for as a dog-walker! Ian is in the middle of a never-ending divorce and it's not the perfect time to start something new. Even though he's mega infatuated by Sara. He can't get her out of his head. But his stupid ex is not making things easy for him - even though she was the one who cheated! WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO SARA & IAN???? WiLL WE GET A HEA?? READ THE BOOK TO FiND OUT ☺☺☺ _______________________ That cover! Grrrrr He's mine! Just so you know! Ok...the story. ☺ I loved it! I really enjoyed reading it. It was very sexy and sweet and adorable and I just had to keep on reading to find out how their story would end. BUT - it was also a tiny little bit too ... uneventful for me. Nothing really happens. We meet. Have sex. Dance around getting together. I don't want him because he's getting a divorce and my parents are getting a divorce too. It was a bit childish here and there. BUT it was still very cute and verrry sexy and I liked all the people in it! Can't wait to hear Becka's story - she seems to be the one with the most exciting story of the three girls! With her mystery Hollywood Star Muse??? ☺ And please don't let me scare you away from reading MOGUL. Ian is MEGA hot and sweet and Sara is adorable too, just a tad too insecure about things. But the story was definitely enjoyable and those few reading hours were definitely NOT wasted - at all! ► MOGUL was a really sexy & adorable romance! I REALLY ENJOYED READING IT! Run to your nearest amazon for your own IAN! This one is MINE!!! ☺

I liked it to an extent. But I personally didn’t like the writing style. It does have steamy scenes though.

“I’m afraid nothing lasts. Nothing, not even life. I’m afraid of attachment and loss and love and even loss of a love such as dancing. That things that can make me happy will one day be gone. And see? You’re not even guaranteed. I don’t even know if you’ll really want to commit once you’re free. You’re not even free yet! Maybe you’ll never be. You’re not even mine, Ford. What if by the time you’re free, you’re waffling…” A chance encounter, the result of a shared taxi. A seductive, uninhibited woman. A mysterious man who emanates sex appeal. The place of the final destination, is the same: a luxury hotel. She's the concierge, he's the guest. An overwhelming attraction, a hotel room and a torrid night. The book from the beginning presents its tone, shows that this narrative will be sensual and without modesty. Sara is an aspiring actress / dancer who dreams of a chance on Broadway. Her current job allows her to pay her expenses once an accident in the past has taken her chances to get a great opportunity. Upon meeting this enigmatic man, Sara will be completely intoxicated by him. Ian is a famous producer, workaholic, who avoids relationships, is going through a difficult time in his personal life and therefore closed to the world. Until a woman completely different from the types he is so used to affects him, and he who thinks he is above any amorous complication, will take an interest in her. The two together are fire and flame. But how could a man with past troubles and a woman with a recently opened wound be able to indulge in such deep feelings in the midst of such lust? Unfortunately the book did not charm me. The main idea is very good, but its development was flawed. The two characters are shallow, the chapters in the form of narration, alternating the characters have become tiresome, lack dialogues, sex is very present, which would not be a problem if it were conducted in a better way, but practically every moment there was a scene of this kind. The attraction of the two is much explored, but the transition to love is hard to believe. The insinuation of a villain could be better explored, the conclusion of the problem was very fast. It had a lot of potential, but failed in several points. Curiously, the part where there was no sensuality was the best of the plot: Ian's grandmother and her dog, the mystery about the guest on room 1103 and Sara's audition were interesting. A pity and an irony, that the sex in an erotic book has been responsible for its failure. *ARC provided in exchange for an honest Review * https://avidezliteraria.wordpress.com/

When they met, Ian and Sara's attraction was immediate. To her, he was the Hot Suit staying at the hotel she worked. To him, she was the hot concierge he couldn't get out of his head. When they finally give in to their sizzling chemistry and have a one-night stand, they both thought it was the last time they would see each other. Months later, Ian and Sara's paths cross again and they still think about each other. Will they let go of each other now? Or is Ian still jaded from his failed marriage? How will Sara react when she finds out that Ian is still married? Mogul is a sexy and captivating book. Ian and Sara's story starts hot and heavy and it will hook you from the first page will all its sexiness, drama, and laughter. The chemistry between Ian and Sarah is intense and off the charts. I loved the dual POV and how they met. Sara always wanted to be a dancer and worked hard to achieve her dream. But an injury set her back and while she tries to regain her confidence and goes to auditions, she works as a concierge at an hotel. She's very sweet and kind, but she has a wild and sassy side too that only Ian can bring out. Ian is a workaholic. He dedicates all his time to his job and that led to a failed marriage. He's jaded and does not trust women. Until he met Sara. He's sexy and hot and has a dirty mouth, but he's also very sweet. Katy Evans delivered again. Mogul is a phenomenal book with an amazing story and incredible characters. If you want a book that will make your panties melt, Mogul is the book for you. Ian Ford will make you pant and scream for more.

Like every other one of Katy Evans’ alpha male sex gods, Ian Ford is ALL man. Mr. Hot Suit himself knows how to leave his women wanting for more, which is exactly where Sara Davies finds herself after she shared one hell of a wild night with Ian, but the possibility of seeing him again is dismal, especially when he never told her his name and the hotel registration didn’t reveal anything that could help her locate the man who made her feel beautiful and deliciously manipulated her body with the utmost ease. Fate seems to want to give Ian and Sara a second chance, though, but that’s only if Ian can unclutter his mind and his heart, which is quite the tall order given the circumstances he’s dealing with, but the fact that he has another opportunity with Sara, he’s not about to pass it up, crazy baggage be damned! Ian and Sara have the chemistry…they already know they’re more than compatible between the sheets…so if they can learn to trust one another, which isn’t easy for either one of them, there should be no reason they can’t explore what’s between them, even if they start under the guise of ‘keeping things casual.’ I have to say that it’s pretty much a universal fact that when romance heroes and heroines start off as a fling or a good time that it NEVER ends that way, which makes sense given the connection and sexual attraction that’s there. It’s obvious in Ian and Sara’s sparring matches as well as how easily fit into each other’s lives that it was never going to be something ‘casual,’ but I also get why Ian laid it out that way given his past experiences and the hole he’s still trying to dig himself out of and as long as Sara can handle it, who am I to judge! Like all of Katy Evans’ stories, I enjoyed Ian and Sara’s book, and I knew it was just a matter of time until these two reconnected and stopped fighting the pull that was always there between them. The secondary characters are an integral part of Mogul, and it was great catching up with them and also finding out more information about future main characters. I’m definitely intrigued by Becka, and I can’t wait for her story! 4 Poison Apples

The weather may be hot but Mogul is hotter, grab a fan you are going to need it  Mogul crosses the timeframe of Tycoon and centres around two of the peripherical characters featured in Tycoon, Sara being Bryn's roommate and Ian making a cameo appearance as the Grandson of one of the dog-walking clientele (insert fate and destiny here). Mogul is a little unconventional with the relationship between Sara and Ian, from random hook-up to clandestine affair a year later. The secret nature due to Ian's precarious situation and devious soon-to-be-ex. Something which Sara understandably struggles with especially because of her own parent's situation. Sara hasn't had an easy time of things but has always retained her optimism. A trained dancer, sadly injured at the start of her career, Sara has recuperated but been unable to catch a break thus becoming stuck in a paid rut of gainful employment. However, redundancy, Ian and Bryn offer the encouragement and support Sara needs to pursue her dreams.  Ian is a complete workaholic, something his ex-blames for the breakdown of their relationship. Ian values loyalty and prides himself on the same, so when his world is upended he shoulders part of the blame. Protective and a provider by nature, Ian questions his ability to sustain relationships and achieve a work/life balance.  Although Sara and Ian begin as a casual, physical relationship neither can prevent the connection between them growing stronger with each encounter.  Despite the unusual circumstances, there is very little angst in Mogul, just a high heat level   I loved being able to catch-up with Aaric and Bryn to see the progression of their relationship  Katy cleverly inserts tantalising snippets of Sara and Bryn's other friend, Becka's story which Katy promises will be next

I received a free copy of this book from the author. If you read Katy's book TYCOON you would see Sara as the roommate of the heroine in that story, briefly. In MOGUL Sara is a concierge for a hotel in NYC. She has a request to come to room 1103 by the guest. They had a one night stand and she didn't even know his name. Months pass by and they happen to run into each other again in the park. Ian Ford is his name and he'd like a repeat of that one night in the hotel One he was disappointed to find she was no long an employee of. Of course there's a catch, right? Ian has a complication. A big one. While Sara tries to reconcile the complication of what kind of relationship she and Ian might have she has to ask herself it's even worth it? I enjoyed reading this book. I breezed right through it. Nothing a bit of communication can't solve in this one. Or possibly tossing some money at the problem and barreling right on through. I hope you enjoy the book as well.

As excited as I was to read this book, my feelings whilst reading it were so heightened!! This book was so many things! So very enjoyable to read and the characters just made me fall in love with them! I love that after a one night stand and not knowing the hot man’s name, Sara can’t get him off her mind! The name's she calls him are too funny! This book had brilliant banter, sizzling steamy tension and amazing characters! I loved the friendships that were made and I really liked Ian! Scratch that, I Looved him!! What a man! Charming, a workaholic but since meeting Sara and not knowing how to get in touch, a bit of time passes! Needless to say when they eventually meet, you can literally feel the tension! Oh boy! I just could not get over how great this couple were together but nothing in life is ever easy and straightforward! I loved the direction the story went and I kept reading till I finished! Katy has really written a beautiful story and I look forward to reading more from her!!

Mogul was a steamy passionate story about two slightly damaged souls that find each other in the least likely place. Ian and Sara have an instant attraction and don't waste any time acting on it. One and done is what they thought they were getting. Little did they know they both would be thinking about that one night even months later. A chance encounter brings them back together and they just can't deny this "thing" between them. If you like hot workaholic suits and sassy aspiring broadway dancers then this book is exactly what you want. This book would be a great addition to your library. Reviewed by: Heather S.

4.5 Stars! Mogul is a hot and sexy romance that you’ll want to spend a lazy afternoon reading, it’s the perfect book to read on the beach or by the pool. With a gorgeous cast of characters, that have interconnecting stories going on at the same time, this romance starts off with a huge bang; a titillating one night stand with an anonymous stranger, that leaves both parties wanting more, and Fate playing a hand in their destiny. The writing is fabulous, fast paced and filled with humorous dialogue, told in dual and alternating POV that let us peek into the mindset of both main characters as they try to deny the obvious. I loved it! At twenty-eight, Sara Davies is working as a concierge at the Four Seasons Hotel in NYC, while auditioning and pursuing her dream of someday dancing on Broadway. After landing a job as a dancer on her first big gig she broke her ankle the first week, during rehearsals, and two years later she’s working just to get by. Ian Ford loved living in NYC but after he discovered his wife was cheating on him, the film and documentary producer has been living in Los Angeles while his ongoing divorce is still not finalized. Cordelia, his soon to be ex-wife, has been dragging it out and he’s been staying in a corporate suite at the Four Seasons Hotel when he travels for business and to visit his beloved grandmother. When both Sara and Ian share a taxi, from the airport, they discover they have the same destination; it’s as if Fate has thrown them together for a reason. When Suite 1103, or Hot Suit as she calls him, requests Sara join him, she decides to do something she’s never done before and takes him up on his offer. After sharing an extremely satisfying encounter they part after Ian makes it perfectly clear he doesn’t intend on repeating their one time rendezvous; not even sharing his name with her. He tells her he doesn’t do relationships and they leave it at that. Despite claiming to each other it was a casual one night stand, they can’t seem to forget that night and think about it often. Sara tries to find out, without luck, Hot Suit’s name; just to have a name for the face she fantasizes about. “This guy makes me hungry. Hungry like someone who hasn’t eaten for days and is standing before a chocolate buffet, and chocolate is her favorite.” Of course it doesn’t end there. Several months go by before they run into each other, but this time it’s Sara who decides to keep things aloof and casual. Especially after learning Ian’s a married man, his divorce is still not settled, and she hates the idea of being ‘the other woman’. “I’m afraid nothing lasts. Nothing, not even life. I’m afraid of attachment and loss and love and even loss of love such as dancing. That things that can make me happy will one day be gone. You’re not even guaranteed. I don’t even know if you’ll want to commit once you’re free.”

Phew! *fans self* Ian and Sara are H-O-T hot!! Right from the start, I knew I was in for a sexy good time. When we first met these characters in Tycoon (Mogul is a standalone. You do not need to read Tycoon first.), I was like okay, there is a story here and I NEED it!! Thankfully, Katy Evans did not let me down. Mogul is a so good. I wish I had more. I loved these characters. Loved them!! Sara is smart, sassy, dreams driven. I love her relationship with her mother. As her family life falls apart, she is there to console and care for her mom. Then there's Ian. My goodness! I am crazy about Ian. Sara has it right. He is so YUMMY. His sexy aura radiates off the page. I always seem to fall for the hot guys in the suits. Ian Ford is no different. I really enjoyed this book. It reads quick and flowed smoothly. The character chemistry is off the charts. If you looking for a passionate, entertaining and enthralling story, then pick up Katy Evans' Mogul.
