About the Author

Melinda Sutherland grew up in a family that sang and told stories, especially on family trips while riding in the car from Illinois to Tennessee. She kept the tradition alive with her children, grandchildren, and those she taught in her preschool, “Special Friends.”
She shared her stories at storytelling festivals and incorporated them into various speaking engagements. She self-produced two children's CDs “Mosquitoes from a Can,” and “Singin’ and a Tellin’ from the old Porch Swing.” Retiring to Ocala, Florida gave her time to put all her life experiences together in her book Moments with Melinda.
